Thanks to everyone who came out today. Here are the results for all races 4K and below. I still have to break out the individuals in the 15-16 & 17-18 year-olds.

Congratulations to Danielle G. for winning a free sweatshirt or t-shirt! We will have shirts and sweatshirts for sale tomorrow from noon to 5pm during the course walk-through at packet-pickup at 320 Stanley Blvd. Travel safely tomorrow as you drive to Yakima.

We have received this question from three different parents/coaches so I would like to pass it onto the group.

Questions, will the race be chip timed and is there a video at the end of our course?

Answer: We have put as much redundancy as possible to assure accurate timing.

1. The race will not be chip timed but we do have two separate timers and clocks and one backup device to go with a bar code reader.
2. We have six marshals manning our finish line.
3. We do have a camera at the line that records 30 frames a second.
4. Even then if we manage to mess up, anyone may petition a race or finish of any of their runners in a race. There is a charge of $50 to Sun City for filing a petition. However, if the club/parent wins, the $50 will be fully refunded.

Hope this answers your question. Pray for our sake that we won't have to go past option #1 but it is there just in case. We fully understand that when athletes run their hardest, especially gunning for one of those qualifying nationals' qualifiers, we want the most accurate results possible.

Feel free to ask any other questions regarding the course or timing and we'll do our best to respond.

As a reminder, there will be a coaches meeting Saturday morning to go over the details of how the meet is going to run, where the doctor is located, etc. at 8:15am in the rotary pavilion.

Or as long as it doesn't get contentious, Erik and Aleah Mickelson (two of the Sun City coaches are hosting an open house to have a Yakima beer or wine or non-alcoholic beverage from 5-8pm to just chat about whatever and to socialize with the other coaches. That will be at the packet pickup area: 320 Stanley Blvd.

We have had a few questions regarding spike length on the Franklin Park Course. First, spikes are strongly recommended. The weather is supposed to be great but early in the day when frost has set in, it will be slick going up the hills from the moisture. Second, we have had questions such as “what length of spikes are recommended?” Each runner may individually decide on what size spikes to wear. Sun City, the home team, recommends for all of its athletes to wear 1/4 inch spikes. The terrain is mostly grass with about 250 meters of running on the track. Last, concessions will be selling 1/4 length spikes at our concession stand for $4 a 8-spike bag or $5 a 12-spike bag. Spikes can be bought Friday at packet pickup at 320 Stanley Blvd. on the west side of the park. Race day they can be bought at the concession stand by the big-toy.

We are excited to announce we will have a photographer at Saturday’s meet. He has also said anyone may download photos free of charge for club or personal use. Thanks Ivan!

A number of people have asked about the course walk-through on Friday. A few facts about the course:

1. It is at Franklin Park and this is open for running anytime between 6am-10pm so feel free to run the course whenever you would like.
2. We start the course construction at 8am on Friday and anticipate being done between noon and 3pm depending on the weather conditions.
3. The only portion of the course that is not open before 3pm is the track and this is because Franklin Middle School is in session until 3pm.
4. Packet pickup will be at one of our coaches house on the west side of the park 320 Stanley Blvd. So before or after the course, feel free to pick up your numbers for Saturday. There will also be a set of maps in your packets.

We have had a few questions about the course. Here is a drone video we did last year on the course. We did invert the loops where the 1k loop is first and the 2k loop is second now. The 8&U will not have the extra 1k loop.

Great news, weather just changed to be mostly sunny for next Saturday. Let's hope this keeps up! Also, just emailed with Athletic.net and registration will be opening in within the next 24 hours they said. They are busy approving all the association across the U.S. so we are just waiting on them to press the button for us to register.

Congratulations to all the runners who made the Region 13 Championship next week. If you haven't, please book your hotel ASAP. It is also the WIAA 4A Volleyball championship here in Yakima next week and most hotels are near capacity.

Sweatshirts for regionals are in. We are excited to announce that regional hoodie sweatshirts are going to be priced at $43 and long sleeve tech running shirts are going to be priced at $20. Next week, we will be letting you know how to order these ahead of time so you don't have to wait in line getting your gear.

Our goal is to have affordable, quality souvenirs to remember your kid's big day. Second, we don't want to make you wait in line over an hour to get it. Last, know that all proceeds from these sweatshirts are going to go toward sending athletes to nationals for cross-country.

We do have to charge tax so if you want to be specific the sweatshirts are $39.74 each plus tax and the shirts are $18.48 each ;)

We are still ten days out from Junior Olympic Regionals but as of today we look to have a high of 54 and a low of 34 with only a 10% chance of rain. Let's hope that keeps up. Also, if you have not reserved your hotel yet for Friday night please do this ASAP as the state volleyball 4A tournament is in Yakima that weekend and they are predicting all hotels will sell out.
