Looking for a Mother’s Day gift that doesn’t scream, “sorry mom, I forgot and got you socks from CVS again…?” Look no further!

Opens next weekend! 🩷

Xenia Area Community Theater proud to feature this heartwarming study of American family life which recounts the daily goings-on of the Hansons, a Norwegian family living on Steiner Street in San Francisco at the beginning of the 20th century.

John Van Druten’s gratifyingly sentimental play shows how Mama, with the help of her husband and Uncle Chris, brings up the children in their modest San Francisco home during the early years of the 20th century. Mama, a sweet and capable manager, sees her children through childhood, manages to educate them, and helps one of her daughters begin her career as a writer. Mama’s sisters and uncle furnish a rich background for a great deal of comedy and a little incidental tragedy, while the doings of the children keep everyone in pleasant turmoil.

FINAL WEEKEND. Last chance to see these seminal works from Absurdist Theater. Don't miss it!

Tickets are available online at https://xeniaact1.org/ or at the door, $17 general admission and $15 for students, seniors and military.
“Krapp's Last Tape” features a solitary, aging man named Krapp who listens to his own recorded memories on his 69th birthday, confronting his past self and reflecting on themes of time, memory, love, and regret through his interactions with the tapes.
Krapp - Mike Taint

“The Bald Soprano” is a seminal absurdist play by Eugène Ionesco, famous for its nonsensical dialogue and critique of modern communication, which follows two couples, the Smiths and the Martins, as their dinner party descends into chaos and language breaks down entirely. The play, inspired by Ionesco's struggles learning English, features characters who speak in clichés and non-sequiturs, revealing the absurdity of human interaction and the emptiness of conventional life.
Mrs Smith - Amy Taint
Mr Smith - Andrew Stokely
Mary - Lauren Eifert
Mrs Martin - Hayley Penchoff
Mr Martin - Aaron Joseph Brewer
Fire Chief - Matt Lindsay

In Act II, THE BALD SOPRANO, Mr and Mrs Martin (Aaron Brewer and Hayley Penchoff) reunite ...... although, "curious, strange and bizarre" as it is, they have never actually been separated.
