TRANSART Presents Pinkster: Joy is an Act of Resistance

The company is committed to building bridges among African Diaspora and Hispanic cultures as well as between the traditional and unconventional dance forms of modern age while preserving the Afro-Cuban culture through dance, song and music. Oyu Oro’s traditional repertoire pays tribute to African lineages derived from the Yoruba, Congo, Carabali, Arara and Dahomean cultures of West Africa and Haiti. The popular dance choreographies celebrate the national Cuban heritage.

Paul Winter & Henrique Eisenmann: This Glorious Earth
Special opening-night price
Seven-time Grammy winner Paul Winter has spent six decades expanding what a saxophone can do. He played the first jazz concert ever held at the White House — for the Kennedys, in 1962. He performed for humpback whales off the coast of Canada. NASA astronauts brought one of his albums to the moon.
Now he's opening the 2026 Maverick concert season, joined by Brazilian pianist Henrique Eisenmann (Juilliard, New England Conservatory) for This Glorious Earth — music inspired by oceans, mountains, forests, and the Grand Canyon.

In 1916, a blue roan goat named Haide crashed the first Maverick Festival and stuck around to become its unofficial mascot. She's long gone now — but Earl from@Hope Farm Animal Rescue Inc. (and friends!) will be at our open house Saturday, June 6. Come say hi! 🐐
