Samuel Beckett marked four places in his script where he wanted music and handed the job to Philip Glass. Those four pieces became Glass's Second Quartet, and they open Sunday's concert.

Also on the program: Barber's Op. 11, the quartet his Adagio for Strings grew out of, heard the way he first wrote it. And Brahms's Clarinet Quintet, written after he'd already declared himself finished with composing.

Hand-built in 1916 with doors open to the trees. Sunday afternoon should be clear and about 69° — close to perfect for hearing music in the woods.
