JONATHON EMERSON was the winner of the 2020 Amsoil Dominator Strictly Shootout. Just like the unpredictable, covid-shortened season, the 2020 Shootout was full of twists and turns. 28 drivers lined up for the 50-lap main event, but first came the pre-race redraw that saw 2-time Shootout winner Kyle Hewins draw the P1 Amsoil bottle, only to then take a $300 payoff to drop to the tail of the field, drawing a big cheer from the fans and a sigh of relief from his fellow drivers. Kurt Hewins led the first 12 laps until Brad Erskine took over through the middle portion of the race. Jason Gammon was in the hunt for much of the race, hanging around the lead pack until he took the lead from lap 27 to the checkers. He was chased across the stripe by Jonathon Emerson and Kyle Hewins (who had raced back up to the lead pack from 28th). With the nighttime fog rolling in, the Shootout took another turn in postrace tech when Gammon was penalized for an unapproved carburator spacer. The victory would go to Emerson, giving him 3 wins on the shortened season. Kyle Hewins took home 2nd followed by Garrett Lamb taking 3rd in his first ever Shootout. Nate Leavitt and Zach Emerson filled out the top 5 as 22 drivers finished on the lead lap.
