Winter Park Film Festival

09/11/2026

Peggy’s Cinema Cabin — an annual Winter Park Film Festival tradition.

Every year, we come together here to kick off the festival with the people who make it truly special: our filmmakers, sponsors, donors, partners, friends, and the community that continues to believe in what we’re building.

It’s a night to reconnect, celebrate, and recognize the people behind the films, the events, and everything that makes the Winter Park Film Festival so unique.

Here’s to another incredible year — and the official start of the 2026 Winter Park Film Festival.

Pretty cool seeing the Winter Park Film Festival on 9NEWS!

A big thank you to Matt Renoux and the 9NEWS team for coming up to Winter Park and spending some time with us ahead of this year’s festival.

We got to talk about some of the things we’re most proud of this year — from supporting independent filmmakers and Colorado stories to creating more space for women in filmmaking, disability representation, mental health conversations, and the action sports stories that are such a big part of this community.

It means a lot getting to share what we’re building here in Winter Park with people across Colorado.

And now… we’re ONE DAY AWAY.

Parks Thomson had one goal: prove he was ready for the next Fast & Furious.

Unfortunately, the Winter Park & Fraser Police Department had other plans. Apparently 140 through town is frowned upon.

With Hollywood cinematographer Igor Meglic coming to Winter Park Film Festival, Parks figured this was his shot at the big leagues.

WAYWARD

Four decades of progression. Four decades of pushing back, breaking barriers, and changing snowboarding forever.

WAYWARD tells the story of the women who challenged the status quo and accomplished what was once thought impossible. Through rare archival footage and firsthand stories from the athletes who lived it, the film looks at what it took to earn visibility, opportunity, and respect — and the women who helped shape snowboarding into what it is today.
