Winston Salem First has teamed up with Joyce Myer Ministries "Supply Hope" program to collect food for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina "Summer Feeding Program". All donations made to Winston Salem First will count towards our food drive goal.

“Have you ever been hungry? Not because you’re on a diet or you didn’t have time to eat breakfast, but because you don’t have enough money to buy food? Can you imagine what it’s like for a child to go to bed hungry every night? Unfortunately, that’s not an imaginary situation for thousands of children in Forsyth County. The University of North Carolina School of the Arts knows you’d like to help. That’s why we’ve made it easy for you to drop off your donation at the UNCSA Fitness Center parking lot on March 24th. Please take a look at your shelves and see what you can afford to donate. There’s a child in our community who will go to bed hungry tonight...unless you help.”

This is a wonderful community project and a valuable civic lesson for children and your help is greatly appreciated. Volunteers will receive donations at 1533 S. Main Street, Winston-Salem from 9:00 am-5:00 pm on Saturday, March 24th. UNCSA has set a goal of collecting 250,000 pounds of food which will benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina who serves 18 counties in North Carolina.

Most needed Items: boxed cereal, boxed macaroni & cheese, boxed spaghetti, soap & toilet tissue, boxed package of pudding or jello, rice, packaged noodles, non-fat dry milk, canned ravioli/spaghetti w/pop tops, canned juices, canned meat, canned fish, canned soup, canned fruit.

Are you wondering what Zumba is really about? If so, check out this event. On March 24th (10am – Noon), get your groove on with one of the hottest dance fitness crazes! You'll be salsa, merengue, regaeton, and bachata-ing your heart out for a great cause. We'll feature two of the best instructors in the area for 2 hours of heart-healthy exercise using these dance styles and others!! Great for any level - beginners and Zumba veterans welcome and encouraged!

Admission: two to five can goods. 20+ can goods gets you in the front two rows.
