Winona Ice Climbing Festival

We know its Spring but its time to mark your calendars! The 2027 Winona Ice Fest dates are Feb 3rd -7th!!! We have some big things planned for our 4th year so stay tuned as we release info throughout the year. Also keep an eye out for our discounted early registration window with limited tickets available. Lastly, our first new information is that this year we will be offering free festival registration for volunteers. Simply sign up for a 4 hr volunteer shift and get fest access as well as all the goodies that come with it!! For now get out on some rock and start your training for the 2027 ice season!!!

The many faces of ice fest 🥹 We cannot thank you enough to all who came, supported, and have been behind Winona ice fest since day one. Our community is truly unmatched!!

Saturday night finale!!!!! Party at Two Fathoms Brewery🍻!!

6pm - Indoor Vendor Village! Grab a pizza & craft brew and check out what our amazing sponsors have for purchase. Our friends Lake State Mountaineering will have a store all weekend on site!! As well as other companies displaying and available to talk shop!

6:30pm - Check out the ice carving demo! 🧊

8pm - Win some amazing prizes at our legendary gear giveaway! Each registration gets you a raffle ticket, so be sure to be there!! Thousands of dollars of free climbing & outdoor equipment given away!!

9pm - a toast to ice fest! Presented by

9:30pm - Live Music... Everyone welcome, Texas Toast! 👏🥳🎶

Until 10pm - Steamboat Sauna! Warm up them bones after a day of climbing ice! 30 min sessions are $20 and the sauna holds up to 6 people at a time. Reserve your spot at the link in our bio!

Friday night, 6:30-9pm! Adventure Film Set, MC'd by THE GOAT of podcasts and presented by .equipment at the Winona History Center!

Grab a beverage and kick back with Chris Kalous for a night of adventure films, provided by and .equipment.

I know we are all excitedly awaiting a film from Rab & Camp athlete.... Marcus Garcia! After Marcus's film, we'll get to hear a live interview with him by climbing's greatest orator, Chris Kalous!

Who's psyched for winona ice fest's tradition Thursday night climb!!?! 5:30-9pm. DJ BOS'N will be spinnin' the tunes and the ice park will be lit up with amazing colors. We're gonna have even more lights than last year!!!! Hang by the fire, grab a beverage, and climb some amazing pitches under colored lights!

Parking at the ice park is very limited. All parking is roadside. If you plan to drive, arrive early and please carpool!

We are hoping everyone can take advantage of the free transportation, provided by Winona Ice Fest!

If you are coming in from the Twin Cities or Chicago and looking to explore car-free ways to travel, look in to the Amtrak! They added a new train last year that comes into Winona 3 times a day. Worth checking out!

Friday and Saturday of the festival, there will be a free ice fest shuttle from downtown Winona to the Ice Park, running 8am-6pm. The bus stop is located at 3rd and Center St.

This bus stop is central to MANY events downtown! Just one block away from:

Two Fathoms Brewery – indoor vendor village, Saturday night party and free gear raffle, Sauna, yoga, free pint, and more!

44 North Hotel – hosting Friday night Climber Apres Social!

Blooming Grounds Coffee – Ice Fest attendees get a free cup of joe!

No Name Bar – Live music (Them Coulee Boys!!!!) Thursday and Friday night! Ice Fest attendees get discounted tickets (link in bio)

There is also free transit provided for Friday night’s art museum event! Minnesota Marine Art Museum is hosting a “New Look Preview Party” for their 20th anniversary. There will be food & drinks, DJ, and not to mention -- a live performance immersive sound experience, inspired by the Winona ice festival!!!!! Free transit takes you from the ice park and downtown bus stop to the art museum from 6pm-10pm Friday night.

On Saturday, our favorite Paul Kuenn will be hosting his old school gear demo at the park!
Stop by and try some ancient gear. Ropes will be set, try climbing with what the old schoolers were using. Experience what it was like back in the day!
