We have some exciting news to share!

Storm Sporting Events is incredibly grateful to be one of 11 local nonprofits selected to receive funding from the Winona Community Foundation during its second grant cycle of 2026!

We were awarded $5,000 in grant funding to support Trinona and Trinona Kids in 2027!

This funding will help us continue making these events accessible to participants of all ages and abilities, encouraging healthy lifestyles, building community connections, and supporting our mission of raising awareness and funds for youth mental health.

Putting on events like Trinona takes a community, and we're fortunate to have organizations like the Winona Community Foundation that believe in what we're doing and the impact these events have beyond the finish line.

A huge THANK YOU to the Winona Community Foundation and its generous donors for investing in our mission and the future of these events!

We're proud to be among the 11 organizations receiving a combined $70,000 in funding to make a difference throughout the Winona area.

After earning the title at Trinona in June, our 2026 King of the Bluff finally received his award!

Tyler Bargman posted an incredible 7:09 climb up Garvin Heights, earning this year’s King of the Bluff title. We were happy to catch him at the Chisago Lakes Triathlon and present him with his custom award.

Congratulations, Tyler, on an impressive climb and a well-earned title!

And once again, a huge thank you to Willet Stained Glass Studios for creating such a unique award to recognize our King and Queen of the Bluff winners. 👑

We are excited to announce Taryn Dornseif as the 2026 Storm Sporting Events Scholarship recipient!

Taryn is a recent graduate of Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and will be continuing her education at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where she will pursue her master’s degree in school psychology.

Her application stood out for her passion for supporting youth, her commitment to mental health, and her leadership as a student-athlete. Through her involvement in women’s hockey, campus leadership, mental health awareness, and youth-focused volunteer work, Taryn has shown a heart for helping others grow, thrive, and feel supported.

The Storm Sporting Events Scholarship is a $5,000 award created to support students pursuing careers in mental health, with a special focus on youth mental health.

This scholarship is made possible by every athlete who participates in Trinona and Trinona Kids. Thirty percent of all registration fees from those events goes directly into the scholarship fund, which means everyone who races with us has helped create this opportunity and has helped support Taryn as she takes this next step.

Congratulations, Taryn! We are proud to support you as you take this next step toward making a difference for students, families, and our community.

The Storm Sporting Events Scholarship fund is held at the Winona Community Foundation. The Winona Community Foundation helps individuals, families, and businesses meet their philanthropic goals by offering an array of charitable funds and gifting options while investing in the betterment of the greater Winona, Minnesota community.
