Hello Campers,
We have some very important reminders for everyone concerning this Saturday’s Lineup.

1. All entry on Saturday, September 5 will be from 14th Street. Both drives from Highway 160 will be closed on Saturday. Entry AFTER Saturday will be from the west on 160.
2. It doesn’t matter to us if you enter from the east or west on Saturday, but understand that the street will be open to the public for regular traffic. Signs will be placed late on Friday indicating where each row should wait if they arrive early. Remember that those who arrive less than 15 minutes before their assigned time will be parked before those in the holding areas who arrived earlier. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES REMAIN ON 14TH STREET!!
a. Rows A-C will each have designated roads in the West Campground to wait for their assigned time.
b. Row D will have areas behind the horse barn.
c. Rows E-H will need to wait in the Pecan Grove until the earlier rows have been processed, but they will not have designated areas there. You are responsible for making sure you can’t be blocked in by people in later rows.
d. Anyone not preregistered can wait in Pecan with Rows E-H. we will not process any of them until 2pm.
3. Everyone participating in Land Rush should have no issues finding electricity at Land Rush, but it is VERY limited in the areas used for Lineup and cannot be guaranteed. Anyone who requires electricity prior to Land Rush should plan to have a generator available.
4. If you preregistered and haven’t already printed your Row Assignment from the August 12 email, you need to print it right away. This MUST be done before you arrive, and the office is no longer able to print them for you as we move to grounds.

One last note, we’re looking at hot and dry conditions for several days at least and fires, whether intentional or accidental, can spread very quickly. Please help by checking all of your wiring, gas, and other potential fire hazards before you leave home.

Every Year the Winfield Arts & Humanities Council organizes a great lineup of artists at its American Heritage of Music (Mini Music Fest). Well worth the trip into Winfield to check it out!

26th Annual Mini Music Fest Gives a Taste of the Walnut Valley Festival for Free

The 26th Annual American Heritage of Music (Mini Music Fest) will be held on Tuesday, September 15th, 2026 at the Community Center at Baden Square, 700 Gary St. Music will start at 9am with the last concert ending at 3pm.

This year’s lineup is as follows:
9:00 am – Brian Henke
10:00 am - Red Door (Helen Avakian and Dave Irwin)
11:00 am – Eric Smith
12:00 pm - Erin Mae
1:00 pm – Strings of Green
2:00 pm – Barry “Bones” Patton w/ Pop & the Boys

Since 2001, the Winfield Arts & Humanities Council’s (WAHC) Mini MusicFest has been an opportunity for the community to get a taste of acoustic folk and bluegrass music, learn about Kansas folklore, and the history of the Walnut Valley Festival. This unique opportunity is provided free of charge so that everyone has access to these performances of exceptional musical talent. Generating a deep appreciation of the artistry of musicianship is at the core of the mission at the WAHC.

Hosting the event in a climate-controlled, centralized space allows residents of all ages the chance to attend. All elementary schools in Winfield and the surrounding area are invited to bring their students for blocks of time throughout the day, and the residents of the Kansas Veterans Home and other area nursing homes are shuttled in to enjoy the music.

This fun and educational event is sponsored by the V.J. Wilkins Foundation, Walnut Valley Festival, Jim Buterbaugh, Ark Valley Credit Union, and Gary & Cheri Gonzales.
