Greetings all!
Happy almost summer in downtown Windsor. The Exchange remains closed at this time. As construction continues around Depot Ave, we are unsure if the space will open this summer, but there is a slim chance it will open later in the year.
That said, some things have changed. In 2023 the land and building were sold to the Town of Windsor. The ad-hoc group of volunteers (those folks that manage this page, helped manage, operate and host the majority of events at the Exchange over the last 10 years) are no longer it's guides, guardians or curators. We would love to continue to host events there, but the town will now require a $250 rental fee per event. That is not a lot of money in the grand scheme of things, but in our realm of keeping events free or by donation, it's enough for us to give pause in booking out many or any events. Our team never kept a dime of door donations, the money went to performers or the space's maintenance and costs.
We're still brainstorming and hoping & would love to see The Exchange back to being vibrant, fun and full of the community we have built over the last decade.
