We are pleased to share an update on the proposed Windsor Agricultural Education Center at the Windsor Fairgrounds.
Earlier this year, Windsor Agricultural Education, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization, submitted a federal appropriations request in support of this important project. Senator Susan Collins has now included the Agricultural Education Center in her recommended appropriations requests, an important step forward as we work to create a year-round space for hands-on agricultural education, youth learning, and support for Maine’s farming future.
This does not mean the project has received final federal funding yet; the request still must move through the congressional appropriations process. However, this is a meaningful milestone, and we are very encouraged by the progress.
The proposed center would provide educational space, livestock learning areas, exhibitions, and opportunities for youth and community engagement not only during our fair, but throughout the year, helping to preserve and strengthen Maine agriculture for future generations.
We are grateful to Senator Collins and her team for recognizing the importance of Maine’s agricultural fairs, rural communities, and the next generation of farmers.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this effort so far. We look forward to sharing more updates as the process continues.

Few things say community tradition quite like the Windsor Fair. 🙌

Today, we want to recognize another 2026 Kenney Award winner, the Windsor Fair, honored with the Heartbeat of the Community Award for more than 160 years of bringing people together and celebrating what makes a community thrive. 🌟

The fair plays a vital role in supporting small, local vendors, exhibitors, and organizations, creating opportunities for them to connect with the community and share their work.

Powered by dedicated volunteers and strong local pride, this video highlights why the Windsor Fair continues to be a beloved tradition and a true heartbeat of its community. ❤️
