Hey y’all! Since we can’t have a fair this year I would like to do something!! Please share pictures of your garden goodies, vegetables, flowers, pumpkins, gords, baked goods, and arts, crafts or quilts you have made! Exhibits are the heart of a county fair and since we are living in a virtual world right now, I thought we would try this!! So let’s see what ya got!

In consideration of the health and well-being of our community, the Franklin County Fair Board has decided to cancel the 2020 Franklin County Fair. With the COVID-19 cases increasing and the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic, we feel that is in the best interest of our fairgoers, volunteers, sponsors and board members to cancel the 2020 fair and put our resources and energy into planning our 2021 Franklin County Fair. We look forward to seeing you then!!!

Hey fair friends... hope everyone is well and practicing your social distancing!! Just a thought..... a good educational opportunity for your kiddos (adults foo) would be to plant and raise some goodies to enter as fair exhibits too. There are also many crafting, sewing and art opportunities for you to do while in quarantine! We will post the exhibits soon but in the mean time just use the list of exhibits from last year! Remember as of now the fair is still on for October 6-10!

This year's fair almost didn't happen but thanks to the support of many volunteers and the community, we're back on with even more than ever!

2019 MARKS THE 13TH YEAR FOR THE FRANKLIN COUNTY FAIR

2019 MARKS THE 13TH YEAR FOR THE FRANKLIN COUNTY FAIR. THIS YEAR’S FAIR ALMOST DIDN’T HAPPEN. THANKS TO THE SUPPORT OF MANY VOLUNTEERS AND THE COMMUNITY, WE’RE BACK ON WITH EVEN MORE THAN EVER! WE HAVE ADDED MORE LIVESTOCK SHOWS, EVENTS, DEMONSTRATIONS, CONTESTS, A MAGICIAN, A COMEDIAN, NEW BANDS, WRESTLING AND THE BIGGEST SANCTIONED TRUCK AND TRACTOR PULL WE’VE EVER HAD! WE ALSO HAVE OVER 15 VENDORS THIS YEAR!

ALSO NEW, THANKS TO MR. SCOTT SMITH FROM THE FRANKLIN COUNTY RESCUE SQUAD, THE FAIR WILL HAVE A NEW LAYOUT THIS YEAR. WE HOPE TO BETTER MEET THE NEEDS OF EVERYONE ATTENDING THE FAIR BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, THE SAFETY FOR ALL. PLEASE OBEY EMS ON DIRECTIONS/ROUTES TO PARKING AND EXITING.

A LITTLE HISTORY ABOUT OUR FAIR...

IT WAS REVITALIZED IN 2007 BY FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONER BARBARA FINNEY. IT HAD ALWAYS BEEN HER DREAM TO BRING THE FAIR BACK TO FRANKLIN COUNTY. THAT DREAM IS NOW A REALITY! THE FRANKLIN COUNTY FAIR HAS EXPERIENCED ITS SHARE OF GROWING PAINS, BUT THERE IS A BOARD IN PLACE THAT IS CONSTANTLY LEARNING AND GROWING WITH THE FAIR. THE 2019 FAIR SHOULD BE ONE OF THE BEST THAT WE HAVE EVER HAD.
