ers Scholarship Program. The Race: Whether you shuffle fast or shuffle slow, we welcome you to one of Wilmington’s oldest road races. The blazingly fast, flat course is good for those who run for speed or those who run for fun. This community race is open to all runners. Local students and their families are encouraged to run. The Cause: The proceeds from this nonprofit event fund college scholarships for local high school runners. Since 2015, the Wilmington Roadrunners Club Scholarship Program has awarded $21,000 in scholarships to high school seniors from New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender counties who are passionate about the sport of running, are proven leaders within their high school and have committed themselves to serving their community. This longstanding community race is presented by the Wilmington Roadrunner’s Club.

🏃‍♂️ Congratulations to our final 2026 Wilmington Road Runners Scholarship Recipient, Grayson Brazik! 🏃‍♂️

This year, the Wilmington Road Runners Club is honored to recognize Grayson Brazik of Coastal Christian HS XC/Track and Field as a recipient of a $1,500 Wilmington Road Runners Scholarship.

Grayson embodies the qualities that distance running demands: discipline, resilience, humility, and hard work. Through his commitment to training, support of teammates, and steady athletic growth, he has become a valued member of the local running community.

Beyond competition, Grayson has given back by volunteering at events including the Wilmington Marathon, Copperhead Relay, and Southern Tour. Known for his positive attitude and strong character, he consistently leads by example both on and off the course.

🏃‍♂️ Congratulations to our 2026 Wilmington Road Runners Scholarship Recipient, Britton Hart! 🏃‍♂️

This year, the Wilmington Road Runners Club is honored to recognize Britton Hart of John T. Hoggard High School as a recipient of a $1,500 Wilmington Road Runners Scholarship.

As highlighted by his coach, Billy Mason, Britton has been a hardworking and dependable leader throughout his four years in cross country and track & field. His determination and steady improvement culminated in an inspiring all-conference performance at the conference championship last fall.

Beyond competition, Britton has made a lasting impact by mentoring younger runners and helping strengthen the culture of his team. He was also recognized with the Hoggard Men’s Cross Country Coaches’ Award and earned the rank of Eagle Scout through his outstanding leadership and community service.

🏃‍♀️ Congratulations to our 2026 Wilmington Road Runners Scholarship Recipient, Kylie Petrides! 🏃‍♀️

We are proud to recognize Kylie Petrides, a cornerstone of the Cross Country and Track programs at Cape Fear Academy, as a recipient of a $1,500 Wilmington Road Runners Scholarship.

As highlighted by her coach, Billy Block, Kylie’s journey is defined by relentless work and steady growth. From a 6:50 mile as a freshman to a 5:09 as a senior, her progression reflects years of discipline, sacrifice, and determination.

As a captain, Kylie leads with both her feet and her heart, mentoring younger athletes, building confidence in teammates, and strengthening the culture of the program. Beyond competition, she has given back by coaching young runners through the Boys & Girls Club and Kids Run The Nation, sharing her passion for the sport with the next generation.

We are proud to recognize Sophia Williamson, a scholar, leader, and record-setting athlete, from Heide Trask High as a recipient of a $1,500 Wilmington Road Runners Scholarship.

As highlighted by her coach, Victoria Evans, Sophia is a true difference-maker in every program she’s part of. A multi-event competitor, she has represented her team at the regional and state level and holds the school record in the triple jump.

Beyond her performances, Sophia’s leadership and energy elevate those around her. Whether organizing, encouraging teammates, or stepping up in high-pressure moments, she brings out the best in her team and plays a vital role in the program’s success.

🏃‍♂️ Congratulations to our 2026 Wilmington Road Runners Scholarship Winner! 🏃‍♂️

We are proud to recognize Witt Reynolds, a standout student-athlete from John T. Hoggard High School, as this year’s boys’ recipient of the $3,000 first-place Wilmington Road Runners Scholarship.

As noted by his coach, Billy Mason, “Witt is a notable example of what a high school scholar-athlete should be.” Over four years, he has distinguished himself through hard work, resilience, and leadership. As both a cross country and track athlete, he progressed to the varsity level, earning all-conference honors and competing at the regional and state level.

Named team captain, Witt led by example, organizing practices, mentoring younger runners, and fostering a strong team culture. Even while battling injury during his senior season, he remained fully committed, supporting teammates and continuing to contribute in every way possible. His perseverance and character left a lasting impact on his program.

🏃‍♀️ Congratulations to our 2026 Wilmington Road Runners Scholarship Winner, Chloe Davis! 🏃‍♀️

We are proud to recognize Chloe, a standout student-athlete from New Hanover High School, as this year’s recipient of a $3,000 first-place Wilmington Road Runners Scholarship.

Described by her coach Greg Zinner as a leader who “leaves a place better than she found it,” Chloe has helped transform her cross country program through dedication, positivity, and service. From her consistent commitment to training to captaining a thriving team of 30+ athletes, her impact has been lasting and meaningful.

On the course, Chloe broke the 20-minute mark and helped lead her team to the state meet. Off the course, her leadership, resilience, and commitment to her teammates truly embody the spirit of the Wilmington Road Runners community.

Whether you shuffle fast or shuffle slow, we welcome you to one of Wilmington’s oldest and FASTEST road races. The flat course is perfect for those who run for speed and those who run for fun.

This community race is open to all runners. Local students and their families are encouraged to run. Check the website for special youth rates!

This longstanding community race is presented by the Wilmington Road Runners Club. All race proceeds benefit the Wilmington Road Runners Scholarship Program.
