Funkshun at the Junkshun — A Love Letter & Farewell

After four unforgettable years of clients' events, music, poetry, celebrations, community, and creativity… I’ve made the difficult decision to close the doors of Funkshun at the Junkshun at the end of this month.

This space was never just a venue.
It was a dream built from passion, faith, and the desire to create something beautiful for my city. It held first performances, beautiful celebrations, wedding dances, jazz nights, open mics, welcomed new life, and countless memories I will always carry with me.

To every person who booked an event, attended a show, supported a series, shared a post, spoke my name in a room, or believed in this space — thank you. You helped bring this vision to life.

Entrepreneurship isn’t always glamorous. Sometimes obedience looks like building. Sometimes it looks like releasing. And while this chapter is closing, my purpose is not.

I’m proud of what Funkshun represented:
✨ A home for creativity
✨ A space for community
✨ A platform for local voices
✨ Proof that I had the courage to try

This isn’t the end of me — it’s the evolution of me.

As I step into a new season focused on growth, innovation, and building in new ways, I carry every lesson, every relationship, and every ounce of love this space gave me.

The dream isn’t dying.
It’s just changing form.
