Juneteenth marks the enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas in 1865.

The Emancipation Proclamation only freed those enslaved in rebel states, and it took two and a half years for word to reach Texas and finally free those enslaved.

We celebrate today because June 19th of that year, 250,000 people were set free having received the news.

On Sunday evening, we worked with Theresa Caputo at The Capitol Theatre.

As part of her act, she always has two venue security personnel accompany her throughout the audience for her performance. Her team was absolutely elated that we had the same two staffers (Andres Alvarez and Chayilyah Lewi) available for the support once again!
