hey, kinsey here. and on behalf of everyone, i want to thank josh (and kendra!!!) for all the hard work he’s put into making wwdf happen this year, and every year. it just wouldn’t happen without his vision and leadership. kendra has also been such a big part of the behind-the-scenes planning and we’re so thankful for her time and effort. we all love you so much and appreciate all the things big and small you do for this lil community. ❄️ until next time 🫶

Having activities to keep the kiddos occupied this year was an absolute lifesaver! We asked our friend Sprite to take the helm and she did a phenomenal job preparing a puppet theater, coloring pages, a scavenger hunt (which some kids completed a handful of times 🧐), and even brought some climbing blocks to let the kids get moving.
It's our hope that we will increasingly make space for kids to feel welcomed and included, and a huge thank you to Sprite for making that happen at WWDF2026!

The idea to host a festival began when Dave and I (Josh) attended Bloodline Fest 2019 in South Bend, Indiana. I'd been deeply influenced by other DIY festivals hosted by friends - Take Hold Fest in Grand Rapids, MI and Flood City Fest in Johnstown, PA - and always thought it would be fun to host our own. It was during that trip that Dave got talking about hosting a festival in Williamsport - and offered to make food for it. When there's a great idea and the offer of delicious food involved, we got something cookin. It was soon after that a few of us met together to brainstorm and dream about what this fest could be.
A huge shoutout to Dave for serving the performers of Winter Wind Down Fest by cooking delicious food each year and for suggesting the fest in the first place!
(also a shoutout to the team at Bloodline Fest - they put on a great festival and were incredibly helpful answering questions we had about starting something like this. Their next fest is this coming October!)

Our original vision for WWDF was to be completely unplugged - simple, quiet, mild and lazy. When Chris offered to run sound we took him up on the offer and we are so glad we did!
From the beginning Chris has worked with us to help create a chill vibe and help all of the talented musicians and poets sound their best.
A huge thank you to Chris for his hard work behind-the-scenes making Winter Wind Down Fest what it is!

We're thrilled to have Brittany and Jordan with us this year! Brittany will be performing her poetry, AND Saturday afternoon at 12:20 and 12:40, she and Jordan will be leading art workshops! The duo will be leading an intro to jewelry making and an intro to block printing course - show up Saturday to participate! And be sure to ask them about the amazing work they do in Pittsburgh to support artists and their after-school arts program for middle and high school students!
