✨ The 13th Annual Willcox Flyer is officially in the books!
As a family, we couldn’t help but laugh while rehashing old bloopers from past years — and wow, what a reminder of how far we’ve come! Yesterday felt strangely smooth (dare we even say… easy?)
One thing that never changes: our deep gratitude. ❤️ To the community that rallies behind us, the riders who return year after year, and the volunteers who show up and work tirelessly — thank you.
Because of this ride, we’ve been able to support more than 80 Willcox High School students through Small Town, Big Dreams in their pursuit of advanced education. 🚴‍♀️📚

This here is Mr. Mike Nelson. For 38 years he taught at Willcox High School and coached countless athletes as our beloved cross-country coach.
The first time I rode my bike up the 33-mile route, it was with Mr. Nelson. I’ll never forget the burning legs, the burning lungs—and the Twinkies at the turnaround spot.
He was not only a participant in the very first Willcox Flyer but also one of our loudest cheerleaders as we got it started 13 years ago. His influence sparked a love of fitness in me and in so many others who were lucky enough to know him.
Mr. Nelson passed away over the weekend. In his honor, we’ll have some Twinkies at the aid station at the top of the hill!
