Frisco Railroad Run

Frisco Railroad Run The Frisco Railroad Run takes place on the last Saturday in April to raise money for Ozark Greenways. And yet, some things haven't changed much in sixty years!

The Frisco Highline Trail is the second longest Rail-Trail in Missouri. A lot has happened on the the Frisco Trail since 1948, when President Harry Truman rode the 36 miles from Springfield to Bolivar and back in his private railroad car, tuning up for his famous "whistlestop” campaign that would get him re-
elected President. The tracks are gone now, the old stations have been torn down and the w

ail of the steam engines have been replaced by silence and bird songs. The route still winds through woods and pastures, crossing 16 bridges on its way across
two counties. The deer still bound away, the cattle still stare, and the small town folks still know how to fry up a pork tenderloin and make a stranger feel welcome.

As we reflect on (and recover from) an amazing race day yesterday for the Frisco Railroad Run, we want to take a moment to show some gratitude to all that made the day possible.

To our runners, thank you for running with us! 8k to 50 miles, we loved seeing you and hearing your stories.

To our volunteers, thank you for the countless hours of time and energy spent before, during, and after the race making sure our runners were safe and fueled.

To our sponsors, thank you for your generosity. Because of your support, we are able to provide funding for local track & cross country teams and support local non profits.

Thank you all for being part of what makes the running community so special!
We’re already making plans for next year’s race and are so excited for what is coming.

Pictured are just a few of the 200 volunteers from the race. We would love to see your photos in the comments!
