A nonprofit dedicated to preserving our community’s long-standing traditions. Together we keep over 100 years of tradition alive.

Through fundraisers and local support, we bring families together each year for a memorable celebration and fireworks.

Meet Jennie Ludwig — one of the people behind the BOOM!

For 10 years, Jennie has volunteered with the Willamina 4th of July, and for more than 20 years she’s been giving back through community service. She volunteers because she loves bringing smiles to people’s faces. One of her favorite memories goes back to 2005, when she helped create a parade float for Holy Cannoli—complete with pizza hats for the kids, pizza in the back, and gummy pizzas flying through the crowd!

Jennie hopes people recognize the festival’s rich history and commitment to the community. To her, the Willamina 4th of July brings together so many of the great things that make Willamina and its community special.

Meet Tom Coblentz — one of the people behind the BOOM!

For 30 years, Tom has volunteered because he believes in supporting his community. His favorite part of the Willamina 4th of July is the parade, but what he values most is the support and camaraderie within the volunteer group. To Tom, the celebration represents a patriotic duty to our community—a tradition worth coming together to support year after year.

Meet Steve Abrames — one of the people behind the BOOM!

For more than 20 years, Steve has been volunteering because he loves being involved in his community. One of his favorite memories is sitting at second base during his first Willamina 4th of July and feeling the fireworks 35 years ago. To Steve, the festival’s special charm is its true hometown feel—bringing communities together, setting politics aside, and simply coming together to celebrate our country’s birthday.

Meet Jennifer Colton — one of the people behind the BOOM!

For 27 years, Jennifer has helped bring the Willamina 4th of July to life, especially through her love of designing and setting off the fireworks. Her favorite moment is hearing the crowd cheer after the fireworks show—a reminder of why she comes back year after year. She wants people to know that the festival takes far more work than most ever see, from the weeks of preparation beforehand to the work that continues afterward. To Jennifer, the 4th of July is a time for everyone to come together and celebrate our country’s birthday.

Meet Russ Ludwig — one of the people behind the BOOM!
After 10 years of volunteering with other organizations and a year with the Willamina 4th of July, Russ volunteers because it’s something he and his wife enjoy doing together. His favorite memory is the Kiss the Pig event, but what really makes this celebration special to him is its long history as one of Oregon’s longest-running 4th of July celebrations. Russ believes the festival matters because it gives our community a chance to share our long-standing traditions with people from neighboring communities.

Meet Jency Rosasco — one of the people behind the BOOM!
For more than 25 years, Jency has volunteered with the Willamina 4th of July, simply because she believes in serving her community. One of her favorite memories is working the dunk tank with Bob Burr, but what means the most to her is the hard work that so many volunteers put in behind the scenes to make the festival great. Jency loves that the celebration brings people from surrounding communities together to enjoy a day filled with tradition, fun, and fireworks.
