MISSING WALLABY ALERT - Cape May County Park and Zoo

9:30 AM
Tuesday, May 5th

A two-year old, male wallaby escaped from his enclosure at the Cape May County Park & Zoo overnight.

Zoo staff have notified the Cape May County Sheriff’s Office, and a search is actively underway in a neighborhood near the zoo in the Cape May Court House section of Middle Township.

Middle Township Police are assisting, and zoo personnel are on scene.

Please avoid the Sandcastle Drive area to allow for a safe and smooth recovery.

If you spot the wallaby:
• Do NOT approach or try to catch him
• Give him plenty of space
• Call the Middle Township Police non-emergency line at 609-465-8700

SS United States Departure Delayed

The SS United States Conservancy has just received word from Okaloosa County that the departure of the SS United States from Philadelphia has been delayed.

Okaloosa County is monitoring a tropical disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico that could impede safe delivery of the vessel to its destination in Mobile, Alabama, and is finalizing complex arrangements.

A new date has not been set but will be shared as soon as it is finalized.

On this day I sit here and think of where I was 23 years ago when our world changed for us. I was home recovering from neck surgery and I turned on the news and continued watching. I knew than that the world I knew would no longer exist. But the one thing about that time I wish would come back is how we came together as a country. People were flying flags and there wasn’t the the constant fighting between the different parties. While I don’t want the destruction and loss of lives again but I would like our country and government to stop the constant fighting between parties and come together like we did on that tragic day 23 years ago. We need to stop the constant battles between the parties. Weather you are democrat or republican doesn’t matter what matters is fixing our country and making it a country to be proud of again. Let’s not forget all those souls who lost their lives to a tragedy and I pray for them and their families on this tragic day. Ok I am getting off my soap box now. God bless the United States.
