This event is a festival that celebrates the sport of hockey in the truest sense of the game! Everyone that participates in this event truly does so because they have a deep love of the game.

Hi Friends. We hope everyone is doing well. As you already know, the past couple years have been pretty difficult as we had to cancel the event due to unpredictable weather conditions. Now, as we try to navigate things in a global pandemic, it’s even more challenging.

At this point, we’ve made the decision to cancel the MPHC indefinitely. We did not come to this decision easily. We’re not sure at this point what our next move will be, but we are going to keep the website and social media accounts active - mainly so people can still view photos and videos. We may revisit the possibility of trying to put something together in the future, but for now, this is the decision we’ve come to.

As always, we appreciate your continued support of us and this event and treasure the many great memories of the MPHC and all that it did for our community.

Welp... we held out for as long as we could and it's just not going to happen again this year. There's just no ice...and no ice-buillding weather in the forecast for us to have the 2020MPHC. We have quite a few things to do, and will be contacting registered volunteers, players and sponsors with more information. Please bear with us as we work through things over the next couple weeks. As always, we thank all of you for your continued support over the years.

Did you have a live tree for Christmas and aren't sure of how or where to dispose of it? Donations of old Christmas Trees are now being accepted at Mac's Marina, 9876 Main St., Whitmore Lake for use at the Michigan Pond Hockey Classic to be held in February (as long as the weather cooperates this year).

Simply drop your trees off at Mac's Marina between the boat launch and the shed closest to the lake. The trees will be used as barriers around the designated pond hockey rinks during the event.

A little late getting started with planning, but the 2020 MPHC is scheduled for Feb 7-9, 2020! Registration is not yet open for volunteers or players... we will let you know when it's open. In the meantime, pray for some cold weather! We are so over having to cancel due to bad weather - as we're sure you are too. Let's do this!

Bad news. We have made the decision to cancel the 2019 MPHC. As you can see from these photos and the two videos we posted, the rain and warm temps have killed our ice. There is too much open water and conditions are not safe for the event. We have sent communications to registered volunteers and players, have contacted event sponsors and vendors, and are hoping to get the word out to everyone else on Social Media. Please share this post to help spread the word. Our sponsors have agreed to carry over their sponsorships to next year, so we already know that we are set up for a great tournament and hopefully a better cycle of winter weather!
