The Biggest Bigfoot Festivals in the U.S.
Bigfoot festivals have grown from small local gatherings into major annual events across the United States. Today, some of these festivals draw thousands of visitors, feature nationally known speakers, and bring in significant tourism revenue. Here are a few of the largest and most well‑known Bigfoot festivals in the country.

The Smoky Mountain Bigfoot Festival in Tennessee has become one of the biggest in the Southeast. It features researchers, vendors, live music, and eyewitness panels. Attendance has grown every year, with people traveling from multiple states to take part.

The Ohio Bigfoot Conference at Salt Fork State Park is often considered one of the most respected Bigfoot events in the country. It regularly sells out, bringing in well‑known researchers, authors, and speakers. Salt Fork itself is a hotspot for sightings, which adds to the draw.

The Oregon Bigfoot Festival taps into the Pacific Northwest’s long history of sightings. Oregon and Washington have some of the highest numbers of reported encounters, and the festival reflects that with guided hikes, educational booths, and family‑friendly activities.

The Whitehall Sasquatch Festival in New York celebrates one of the most famous East Coast Bigfoot encounters — the 1976 Whitehall sighting witnessed by multiple police officers. The town has embraced its history, and the festival continues to grow.

The Honobia Bigfoot Festival in Oklahoma is known for its campfire storytelling, local history, and strong community involvement. It’s one of the longest‑running festivals in the central U.S.

These festivals aren’t just about Bigfoot. They’re about local culture, outdoor adventure, folklore, and community tradition. And every year, more towns join in.

Congratulations to our calling contest winners! Everyone who participated did such a marvelous job and helps make a great end to our day. The winners in the children’s division were: 3rd place Maxwell ( didn’t get where he is from), Brantley from Halfmoon NY and Owen from Mayfield NY.
In the adult division third place went to Eric Lancaster, Second place Mike Giraid, and the Winner Michael O’Connor From NJ. If Erik and Mike see this, would you let us know where you are from.

Just like that, our 10th Annual Whitehall Sasquatch Festival and Calling Contest is a memory.

What a beautiful day with so many great people. Our Squatchy hearts are full from all the support for and from our community. This festival is one of the best days of the year for our small town. This would not be possible without those who stop by the festival, support a local business, or spend the weekend in Whitehall.

We, of course, could not do this event without our volunteer team, the Chamber of Commerce, and our sponsors. This year's team worked so hard to put together our best event yet, because 10 years is a big milestone!

Congratulations to our Calling Contest winners; this is our favorite part of the day. This year's contestants showed up and squatched out more than ever!

We had visitors from California, New Mexico, Colorado, Canada, France, the U.K., Korea... the list goes on!

We are so grateful and happy with the turnout. Until next year! Mark your calendars for September 25th, 2027.
