... and last but certainly not least, take a look at the winner of this year's Most Technical category! A visit to this gingerbread alpine village reveals shredded wheat thatched roofs, gingerbread bricks of multiple styles, frosting garlands, a pepermint walkway, tiny skis perched at gingerbread doorways, and colored candy windows. Each building built from scratch, with a gingerbread bridge over a frozen candy stream. Behind it all you can see the tracks of skiers who enjoyed some sugary turns.😆The most impressive part of this entry, however is the electrified Northern Lights brought to life in candy glass! This entry brought enchantment to the gingerbread tent during the Whitefish Christmas Stroll, and had to be seen in person to truly take in the magic.✨

We would like to thank each and every entrant in this year's contest. HOURS were spent making gingerbread structures that brought joy to our community and awareness to the important isssue of affordable workforce housing. We couldn't do this without you and the generous community who donated to vote on their favorites. Let's do it all again next year!

📷Picture postcard perfect, this year's winner of the Most Whitefish category brought downtown to life... in gingerbread🤯The gingerbread storefronts with awnings with pretzel posts were created in persepective, flanked by gingerbread cars parked along the snowy marshmallow drifts of Central Ave. Perhaps most impressive, the electrified gingerbread garlands suspended above, replete with the hallmark snowflakes and red bells for which our holiday village is known. Just. Tremendous.

We invite you to join us next year as we usher in the season with gingerbread creations made and voted upon by the community, all in an effort to bring awareness and fundting to Housing Whitefish and their mission of affordable workforce housing solutions.

If you visited us at this year's Whitefish Christmas Stroll you know this entry was hard to miss! Today we feature our winner of the Most Creative category! 💚Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore with this emerald gingerbread Oz tower rising above the Tin Man in his licorice forest, the Scarecrow in his candy corn field, the Lion peering over a gingerbread hill, and of course Dorothy standing next to her gingerbread farmhouse.😮The attention to detail was outstanding!!

Making a gingerbread entry takes brains, heart, and courage, and to quote Glinda the Good Witch, "You've always had the power my dear, you just had to learn it for yourself!" We invite you to discover your true gingerbread powers next year as we once again fundraise for Housing Whitefish!

🎊Congratulations to this year's contest winners!🎊
Today's highlight is the winner of the youth - most technical category. This young gingerbread architect's snowy vision of a cozy winter cabin features candy windows lit from within, a gumdrop-lined walkway, and across a snowy coconut expanse a perfectly-sized frozen pond. We wonder if there are Swedish Fish hibernating below? We love it, and apparently the voting public does too!

The Great Whitefish Gingerbread Contest is for everyone, and we encourage aspiring gingerbread afficiandos of all ages to join us next year as we celebrate the season by raising both awareness and funds for Housing Whitefish
