Paul Joseph Lyons, 79, of Garrison, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024 in Vanceburg Hills Nursing with his wife by his side. Paul was born, February 24, 1945 in Lewis County, Kentucky to the late Arnold and Lizzis Leadingham Lyons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Lyons and three step children, Karen Lyons, Michael Lyons, Angie Lyons, his brother Luther Lyons, and three sisters, Nellie Fisher, Judy Barker, and Opal Mills. Paul was of Baptist faith and a self-employed truck driver for over 50 years. He enjoyed dancing, race cars, and trucking. His family and friends were his passion. Those left to cherish Paul’s memory are, his wife Helen Lyons of Garrison, three sons, Paul Joseph Lyons Jr. (Melinda) of South Portsmouth, Jerry Lyons (Sherry) of Firebrick, Jimmy Lyons of Big Bear Lake, Oh., one daughter, Lisa Long (Darrell) of Milton, In. three step children, Diane Blackburn, Leon Wright, Paul Wright, two sisters, Mary Cluberhouse, Beulah Wilburn, 21 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, a special niece, Angie Elliott, and two special friends, Clarence and Richard. Funeral services for Paul will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Music Family Funeral Home in Greenup with visitation from 11:00 am to service time at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow services in Luther Lyons Family Cemetery in Greenup.
