Wewa 4th of July The City of Wewa will be hosting their 1st Annual 4th of July festival this year! Come out and show your support for your community and country!

Let's show up and start a new tradition in our lil town with the big heart!! Fireworks will not be displayed on Saturday night(the day of the festival), they will be displayed on Sunday, July 4th at dark followed by more live music and dancing.

I was told by City Hall, this is the only organization that will be allowed to set up at the park for the July 4 festivities. I am just posting the flyer on the FB page.

FIREWORKS WILL BE DONE ON TUESDAY, JULY 4

There WILL NOT be a festival this year. However, there will be live music from 6 pm CST until fireworks by Mr. Billy Lipford(the person that sings at Tupelo Honey Festival), Mr Timothy Mosley will be there with his food truck selling shrimp and wings and fries and his famous lemonade. Project Graduation will be there selling glo-in-the-dark items and candy. And the girls 8U softball team will be walking around the park in their team jersey if you would like to donate to their fundraiser to help them get to state playoffs.

The Saturday festivities have been canceled due to the weather forecast. However there will still be singing at the park at 6 PM until the fireworks.

There will be live music both Saturday and Sunday. The Gulf Coast Electric Coop was kind and generous enough to sponsor all of the music for both days. Mr Billy Lipford(The Voice of Jackson county) will be opening up on Saturday morning at 10 am, he will play until 1:00 and Levi Evans will finish up the afternoon for us. Mr Billy will return on Sunday night at 6pm to take us thru the night! Some awesome music, you don't want to miss it!!!

There will be 2 wet cooling stations at the park to help keep everybody cool! One will be located in the area of the bouncy houses (so come prepared with towel/extra clothes for kiddos) and the other will be an arch located on one half of the road on the side of city hall for adults. You can walk thru it or walk around it. These water stations are being provided by WEWA SAR, trying to keep everybody cool for the day!!

The bouncy houses for the children are FREE... Yes I said FREE! DESERET CATTLE AND TIMBER CO WAS KIND AND GENEROUS AND SPONSORED THE BOUNCY HOUSES. The local Wewa SAR group of men and women will be in charge of supervising the bouncy houses. There will be containers out for donations if you see fit to give. Remember these ladies and gentlemen volunteer many hours day and night when we flood and when someone goes missing on the river, after a hurricane passes through an etc. They go wherever the need is in the county, so let the community give to them, so that they may in turn give back to us again with their help

Here is a list of goodies that the vendors will have to sell at the park: plants, woodwork, candles, wax melts, headbands, jewelry, clothing, hand sanitizers, bath bombs, live plants and seeds, fruit trees, perennial vegetables, herbs, snap jewelry, rear view mirror charms and bookmarks, the eastern star will be there with their own designed independence day t-shirts, watercolor and textile arts, leather and pearl jewelry, glitter tumblers, epoxy artwork, t-shirts, hand towels, cups, earrings, keychains, cuphuggers, custom wood designs, vinyl decals and more t-shirts, cookbooks, miscellaneous be decor and baked goods. Come out and do some Christmas shopping in July.
