This week we’re celebrating three wonderful musicians and educators in our Suzuki Music Schools community!

🎻 Meet Andrea Gomez!

Andrea Gomez is a violinist and violist with an extensive background in music education and performance. Originally from Colombia, she holds degrees from EAFIT University in Colombia and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. After teaching and performing with orchestras throughout Colombia and the United States, Andrea brings her passion for music, continued learning, and creative teaching to Suzuki Music Schools, where she also serves as Head of the Orange School.

🎶 Meet Audie Szymanski!

A Connecticut native, Audie Szymanski has been part of the Suzuki Music Schools community since his high school years. He earned a degree in Music Education from Western Connecticut State University, where he studied violin and performed on violin, viola, and cello. With specialized Suzuki training in violin and early childhood music, along with additional Kindermusik training, Audie believes in the power of music to nurture individual growth and strengthen communities.

🎹 Meet Ernest Chamberlain!

Ernest Chamberlain has been part of the Suzuki community for many years, beginning with piano studies at the School for Strings in New York City. He holds degrees in music and elementary education and brings a broad musical background that includes piano, conducting, composition, and voice. Ernest is passionate about making music accessible to all learners, incorporating both classical and contemporary music into his lessons while working with students of diverse ages, backgrounds, and abilities.

We’re grateful to have such skilled musicians sharing their artistry, experience, and passion with our students! ❤️🎶

Reading Orchestra is the ideal way to practice reading skills in a fun and relaxed setting, reinforcing ideas from group class and private lessons as well as focusing on musical collaboration with independent parts! The group meets on Saturdays from 11:30-12:15pm with Ms. Erin in SMSW Studio 12.

🎶 FACULTY FRIDAY! 🎶

This week we’re celebrating three wonderful musicians and educators who are relatively new or returning to our Suzuki Music Schools community!

🎻 Erin Gardiner — Violin & Viola
A dedicated Suzuki educator and violinist, Erin holds degrees from Butler University and The Hartt School and brings experience in orchestral, chamber, traditional, and Suzuki music education to her students in Westport. She will also be leading our reading orchestra this year!

🎻 Leah Streety — Violin & Viola
Leah holds degrees from UT Austin and the Hartt School and performs with the New Haven Symphony Orchestra. Her teaching centers on individualized instruction, musical growth, and building confidence in young musicians.

🎹 Seiji Nakanishi — Piano
Seiji is an accomplished pianist and chamber musician who made his Carnegie Hall debut in 2024. Originally from Kyoto, his career bridges music and science—he holds graduate degrees in both music and biochemistry and has conducted genetics research at Yale.

We’re grateful to have such skilled musicians sharing their artistry, experience, and passion with our students! ❤️🎶
