The excitement surrounding the upcoming Buffalo Niagara Martial Con just took another exciting step forward. We are proud to announce our first official vendor, and we couldn’t have picked a more creative and dynamic group to kick things off.

Joining us will be The Rum is Gone, Cosplay and More, a team known for turning imagination into reality. If you’re searching for sci-fi novelties, eye-catching costumes, detailed props, or something completely unique, this is the booth you won’t want to miss. And if they don’t happen to have exactly what you’re looking for, don’t worry. Chances are, they can create it.

Their passion for creativity, craftsmanship, and fandom fits perfectly with the spirit of Martial Con, where different communities come together to celebrate skill, artistry, and imagination.

Adding even more excitement, visitors to their booth will also have the chance to meet Robert Hubbard, a man of many talents, author, photographer, cosplayer, and creative storyteller. His presence will make the booth an even bigger destination for fans and attendees alike.

🔥 Buffalo–Niagara Martial Con Welcomes Robert Hubbard 🔥

Some people train in martial arts.
Some people build community.

We are proud to announce our second confirmed guest for the Buffalo–Niagara Martial Con - Robert Hubbard.

If you’ve spent any time in the martial arts world online over the last two decades, chances are you’ve stepped into a space he helped create. Robert is the founder of multiple influential martial arts forums, including MartialTalk, KenpoTalk, and FMATalk — digital gathering places where practitioners from around the world have debated, learned, connected, and grown.

But his impact doesn’t stop behind a keyboard.

Robert is also an accomplished photographer, capturing the spirit of martial arts, glamour, and cosplay through a lens that understands movement, power, and presence. Since 2018, he has participated in over 400 costumed events and is a founding member of Justice League of WNY, one of Western New York’s most accomplished costume-based charity organizations. Through character and creativity, he has helped bring joy, inspiration, and real-world impact to countless communities.

One of the signature moments of the Buffalo Niagara Martial-Con is the Buffalo Niagara Laban Laro Tournament - a legacy event that stands as one of the longest-running tournaments in the region. This is the classic competition you grew up with… reimagined with purpose and fire.

You’ll see the foundations that built the sport: traditional weapons and forms, point fighting, creative divisions, and extreme forms that demand precision, power, and courage. But what truly sets Laban Laro apart is that it goes where other tournaments don’t.

We bring the Filipino divisions front and center.

That means point and continuous stick fighting.
That means padded knife fighting.
That means stepping into something real, something tested, something rooted in tradition and pressure.

This event isn’t standing still - it’s growing. Every year the energy gets louder, the divisions get deeper, and the competition gets stronger. With 19 Grand Championship divisions, there is no shortage of opportunities to rise, to challenge yourself, and to leave your mark.

We’re beyond excited to announce the first officially confirmed guest for Buffalo Niagara Martial Con - and we’re coming out swinging.

Will. Hartke.

You might not recognize the name right away - but trust us, you’ve seen him. If you’ve ever watched armored combat leagues and thought, “That’s unreal,” there’s a good chance you were watching one of the best in the world. Will Hartke is the current North American Champion, an elite armored combat fighter who’s been invited to battle in Europe, competed in cage armored matches, brutal team fights, and everything in between. This isn’t cosplay. This is full-contact, steel-on-steel combat at the highest level.

And he’s coming to our event.

Will will be on site with a table - so come meet him, take photos, grab some swag, and maybe even take your first step into the world of armored combat yourself. If you’ve ever been curious about what it takes to step into armor and fight for real, this is your chance to talk to the man who lives it.

We’re genuinely honored to have Will Hartke as part of Buffalo Niagara Martial Con, and he’s just the first of many incredible guests we’re lining up to make this a truly one-of-a-kind martial arts experience for the Buffalo-Niagara region.
