Mississippi Mayhem Mississippi Mayhem is a themed motor & music festival the 2nd weekend of September in West Salem, WI. That is what we celebrate at Mississippi Mayhem.
(236)

Mississippi Mayhem is a nostalgic celebration of epic proportions. A weekend long event that celebrates the cars, music, styles and spirit of a time gone by. Expect to feel as though you are walking down the streets of 1959, just with more tattoos. This modern interpretation of the past will be a crazy infusion of classic lovers, greasers, car clubs, pin ups, bikers, builders, vintage enthusiasts, musicians and more. Yes, our styles are different, but nostalgia bonds us together. Traditional hot rods and kustoms mingle merrily with stock classics and yes, maybe even a rat rod or two. Our styles may be different, but it is the belief that cars should be built and driven – not bought and trailered, that brings us together. No egos
No politics
Just a bunch of nostalgic folks who love their cars! By nostalgic we mean:
››Built 1964 or earlier
››In a style from the same era
››No billet – anything!
››No art cars
››No Mustangs
››No modern rims
››No low profile or raised white letter tires
››No digital gauges
››No neon, 80′s style monochromatic paint or murals
››No IFS on fenderless cars
››No TPI/EFI (if you have it, keep your hood closed)
››NO TRAILER QUEENS! Vintage bicycles and motorcycles are welcome at Mississippi Mayhem. Traditional styled pre-75 chopper, bobber and cafe racers are welcome. Stock motorcycles must be pre-65.
››No art bikes
››No twin cam Harleys
››No new Indians, Buell, Big Dog, or West Coast Chopper/OCC style bikes
››No aluminum wheels
››No wide rear tires
››EVO bikes are OK – just need to be TRADITIONAL STYLE! Get ready kats and kittens, 'cause we are going to party like it's 1959! Website: http://mississippimayhem.com/

You saw the show. These are the people who made it happen.

Mississippi Mayhem doesn’t happen because of one or two people. It happens because an incredible group of humans shows up year after year and says, “What needs to be done?”

They work the gates. Inspect vehicles. Sell merch. Sling b**rs. Set things up. Tear things down. Answer a thousand questions. Haul stuff from one end of the grounds to the other. Solve problems you never knew existed. And somehow keep smiling through the chaos.

Some work for a few hours. Some work all weekend. Some have been doing it for years.

Every single one of them matters.

Our volunteers don’t just help us put on Mississippi Mayhem—they ARE Mississippi Mayhem.

Mister and I could dream up all the crazy ideas in the world, but without this crew, they would stay exactly that: crazy ideas.

So to every person who gave us your time, your muscles, your patience, your talents, your blood and probably a little bit of your sanity this year…

THANK YOU.

We see you. We appreciate you. And we absolutely could not do this without you.

Here’s to the crew behind the Mayhem. ❤️🤘

THIS is what the Mayhem family does.

This year, every single bar tip at Mississippi Mayhem went directly to our own Matt Williams—and you guys showed up in a BIG way.

Together, you raised $2,476 for Matt!

Matt has spent years working our main gate, inspecting vehicles and giving his entire Mayhem weekend to help make this show happen. After his prostate cancer diagnosis and surgery, we wanted the opportunity to give a little of that love back to someone who has given so much to us.

And you did exactly that.

A special thank you goes to Diane Keith for making the drum tip jars, Darlene Coffey for painting the awesome camp canvasses that were part of the auction, Luke Sanwick for raising $360 by cutting his hair, Jeff Butz for donating a year one Mayhem shirt that brought $100, John McCormack for donating two beautiful framed photographs, Joseph Daly for adding to the donations by sharing his gorgeous Auburn, everyone who donated items to auction and you all who gave your hard-earned money.

Every dollar. Every extra tip. Every person who tossed a little more into the jar because they knew where it was going—it all added up to $2,476.

Thank you for taking care of one of our own.

Cars and music might bring us together, but this is what makes us a family.

We love you, Matt. ❤️

And to the entire Mayhem family—thank you. We couldn't be prouder of you.

There is a message from Matt in the comments.

We could try to explain Camp Mayhem…

The cars. The music. The bikes. The burnouts. The costumes. The questionable decisions. The absolute chaos.

But some things just can’t be explained.

You had to be there. 🤘

Here’s a little photographic evidence of what happens when the Mayhem family goes to summer camp.

See yourself? Tag yourself. See your friends? Tag ’em. Got a story behind one of these photos? We definitely want to hear it. 😂

Well, campers… somehow we survived.

Another Mississippi Mayhem is officially in the books, and I’m still trying to wrap my head around what an incredible weekend we just had.

To every single person who rolled through those gates—THANK YOU.

Thank you to the people who brought out their hot rods, customs, classics, mini bikes and all the weird, wonderful machines that make Mayhem what it is. Did you see the motorized canoe and lawn chairs?!? 🤯

Thank you to our bands for bringing the noise, our vendors and swap meet sellers for bringing the goods, our pinups for bringing the glamour, and every single person who jumped into the races, contests, games and ridiculous bad ideas we dreamed up for Camp Mayhem.

Thank you to everyone who camped with us, danced with us, drank a b**r with us, rode a bicycle around the grounds, made a new friend, laughed until your face hurt, or went home with a story you probably shouldn't tell your mother.

Thank you to our sponsors: Auto Value, Pink Owl Bakery, and Tractor Central for always stepping up to support the show. We love you long time.

And to our volunteers and Mayhem crew…

There simply would not be a Mississippi Mayhem without you.

You work your asses off before, during and after this show. You stand at gates, inspect cars, answer questions, haul things, fix problems, clean messes, keep things moving and somehow still manage to have a good time while doing it. I will never be able to adequately express how grateful I am for every one of you.

But the thing I love most about Mississippi Mayhem isn't the cars.

It isn't the bands.

It isn't the burnouts, the b**r, the bicycles or even the bad decisions.

**It's the people.**

Some of you have been coming to Mayhem for years. Some of you walked through our gates for the very first time this weekend.

But for a couple of days every September, we become this wonderfully weird little Mayhem family.

You show up.

You participate.

You take care of each other.

You embrace the ridiculousness.

And every year, you remind me why we keep doing this.

Thank you for believing in this crazy little motor & music festival and for helping us turn it into something so much bigger than a car show.

Camp Mayhem is officially closed for the season.

The memories, questionable decisions and stories will live on forever.

**See you next summer, campers.**
