So many people to thank …First, my husband and sons. Thank you for helping me for weeks to prepare for this tournament from moving tote after tote out of our house, shopping and pushing the heavy flatbeds full of cases of water, Gatorade, soda (and everything in between), loading and unloading equipment, cooking/grilling, and any other tasks that I need help with. Only to put it all back again, waiting for the 65th Annual Ed Glodzik Memorial Basketball Tournament in 2027.
To my West Rutland Sports Booster Club TEAM and your families- there are no words to say how much I appreciate each and every one of you! You all ROCK! From attending meetings, planning and organizing for months, soliciting and picking up donations, more shopping, working a full week at the tournament doing set up/tear down, collecting admissions, selling and writing raffle tickets, merchandise and concessions, security duty, announcing, photography. You name it, we all do it!
Bethany Hackwell, Ann Higgins and family, we are so gracious for your continued support year after year and hope that we can carry on this March Madness tradition for many years to come!
To West Rutland School and staff that assisted us in prepping for the tournament, thank you for providing the venue, setting up, cleaning, donating items for the tournament and coming to cheer on all our athletes.
Steve Marro, you are a godsend! You and your team of officials that continue to volunteer a large amount of time to officiate numerous games, year after year, is amazing and very much appreciated! This is not an easy task, especially in a state where the number of officials is declining for many reasons.
WRS athletes and community members who volunteer your services to run the clock, help with daily set up/clean up, assist with whatever tasks that need to be done, no matter the job, thank you so much!
Jessie Grabowski, everything you do to help us with this tournament every year is truly appreciated.
To all our extremely generous donors/sponsors, we could not provide such an unforgettable experience for our athletes at the magnitude that we do without each of you!!!
Thank you to all our schools/rec programs for allowing your teams to participate in the tournament! Coaches, thank you for giving your time to these young athletes!
Families and supporters of our tournament players, thank you for coming out all week to continuously cheer on these kids and support our fundraiser in every way possible so that the West Rutland Sports Booster Club can continue giving back to our athletes!
Dave Serrani and Mark Trepanier, thank you for your expertise with the light show for the championship finals! Emily Hopp and Jayden Kelley, thank you for singing the National Anthem. To our little WR Rec Cheerleaders and coaches, you put on an amazing halftime show in front of a huge crowd and absolutely knocked it out of the park!
Thank you to the family of Butch Goulette and the Butch Goulette Youth Athletic fund for supporting our tournament again this year with a very generous donation to our Finals teams!
Lastly, to every one of our athletes- you left it all out on the floor and played your hearts out. You are all winners in our eyes!!! Great job by all!!!
In closing, your communities need you! Whether it be becoming an official, coaching, or volunteering, you can make a difference in providing opportunities and experiences for these kids in positive ways that they may not otherwise have available to them!!!
