Another wonderful and eventful past few weekends at the Stine Barn at Prophetstown! I’m always thrilled when an event chooses V's Delicacies Catering—the presentation is always stunning and the food absolutely delicious!

I completely forgot to snap photos from the most recent event they catered, so here are a few shots from a holiday event they’ve done at our venue in the past.

We’re currently booking corporate holiday parties for December and January, so now’s the time to reserve your date!

And just for fun, I’ve also included a few photos from a barn dance. As much as I love the elegant tables and chandeliers, it’s always such a blast to see the tables cleared for a huge dance floor, the bar ready to go, and colorful lighting filling the space!

We had a full and wonderful weekend at the Stine Barn with three events back-to-back! Friday was a fraternity barn dance, Saturday we were honored to host a Celebration of Life, and Sunday wrapped up with a sweet baby shower. All three events went beautifully, and we’re so grateful to everyone who trusted us with their special event!

I was out at the Stine Barn at Prophetstown event center last night planting mums while the fields were being harvested for beans. I am so thankful for all of our local farmers. Their hard work and dedication to their families and communities often go unnoticed, but without them, the grocery stores would be empty.

Food doesn’t just come from the store- it comes from the hands of hardworking farmers.

What’s your favorite crop to see planted? Mine has always been mint. It reminds me of my Grandpa Rife, who would let me pick a few leaves when I was little so we could enjoy their scent the whole way home. 🌱💚

Some things are just meant to be—and that’s exactly how I feel about the newly refinished bar at the Stine Barn.

I’ve always enjoyed refinishing hardwood floors and furniture. It’s a lot of work, so I’m very selective about the projects I take on. We had been planning to build a bar, but then I stumbled across this incredible piece—stored in someone’s pole barn for the past 20 years. The moment I saw it, I knew I had to save it.

The owner told me it was pulled out of a bar during renovations and originally built in the late 1800s or early 1900s. It’s massive—an 18-foot-long bar with a 21-foot backbar. What’s more, it’s full of character, including “worry holes” worn into the wood where regulars once sat in the same spot night after night, sipping their beers.

I’m incredibly thankful to the owner (Leslie) who preserved it all these years, unknowingly holding onto it just long enough for me to find it. And I’m equally thankful to my husband, who always goes along with my crazy plans, no matter the condition things start in. I take a lot of pride in my work, and it’s deeply rewarding to know this bar will be loved and used once again at the Stine Barn.

One of the things we weren’t able to save was the milk house. However, Mark and Tami with GJ Gardner custom homes was able to add an amazing addition in its place. I always recommend Mark and Tami to anyone looking to build a new home — they’re absolutely fantastic to work with! When you're investing in a project, you want a builder who is fair, knowledgeable, and knows how to get things done, and that’s exactly what you get with them.

Mark was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. From navigating permits and fixing structural issues in the main barn to handling excavation, parking, concrete work, drywall, and even installing the commercial septic system — he was on top of it all. (And since no one really wants to see photos of the septic system 😂), I’m excited to share a few pictures of the custom restroom stalls, beautifully finished by one of his AMAZING sub-contractors!

I'm also thrilled to show off a few shots of the bridal suite. If you’re even thinking about building, make sure you schedule a meeting with Tami. You won’t be disappointed — they have the best team in town! http://linktr.ee/gjgardnerlebanon

Did you know that at one time the Stine Barn at Prophetstown was one of the largest self-sustaining dairy farms in Indiana!!

I spent some time out at the barn today and snapped a few photos of my favorite features — especially the elements we were most adamant about saving!

#1 The gorgeous beams and wooden peg nails— I’m in awe of the craftsmanship from this time period. Every joint and detail tells a story of care and skill.

#2 We had to remove part of the hay loft to open up space on the first story, but we lovingly salvaged the original wood flooring. It was repurposed to finish the upper walls in the loft area where the band or DJ will set up.

#3 When the main barn was expanded, the farmers used whatever materials they had on hand — and that includes trees as posts in the lean-to areas of the barn. Talk about resourcefulness and character!

#4 The silo is still in great condition and will make an incredible backdrop for photos. It really adds a timeless touch to the whole property.

#5 The metal ceilings inside the lean-to areas of the barn are actually the old metal roof!
