Get your running shoes ready and mark your calendars, Wabash Riverfest's Water Drop 5K is Saturday July 11! We have a new route this year. Runners will start out going west on the Sagamore Trail, then use the beautiful new ramp to get down to the Wabash Heritage Trail. The majority of the race will be traveling south on the Heritage Trail along the Wabash River. Finish the race by crossing the pedestrian bridge in to Tapawingo Park!

We will provide a bus from Tapawingo Park to the starting line, so you will finish where your car is parked at the Wabash Landing Garage. Be sure you check-in in time to catch the bus!

Wabash Riverfest 2026 is just two short months away! We're looking for volunteers of all types to help make this fun day on our riverfront possible. Early riser? Help with the 5k or festival set up! Love paddling and want to share your love? Take festival goers out at Try-a-Canoe! Want to chill in the shade and do art? Help at the kids coloring station or face painting! We'd love help from anyone, ages 13 and up!

All volunteers will get a free Wabash Riverfest t-shirt, and those that help with 2 or more shifts will get free river-friendly gifts! Learn more and sign up on our website:

Summer is inching nearer and we've started taking applications for the second round of Wabash Riverfest conservation awards! This cash award is available to fund a small project that improves the Wabash River:

-$1,000 upfront to winner
-3 finalist will be chosen in June
-Riverfest attendees will vote for winner at the festival info booth
-applications due by June 1
-projects must be completed within 11 months of being awarded
-projects must improve ecosystems, water quality, outdoor recreation, environmental education or appreciation of the Wabash River in Greater Lafayette
-anyone can apply for this award: nonprofits, individuals, businesses, churches, government offices, clubs, etc.
-projects can be, but aren't limited to: planting native plants and trees, purchasing tools or herbicide to manage invasives, buying supplies for a conservation education lesson, paying an artist for a nature-theme public art piece, paying a contractor to remove invasives, or another creative idea
