The Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival is one of the largest Festivals of its kind celebrating all that is sheep or wool related. With over 275 vendors, more than 800 sheep, and workshops, food, and entertainment, there is something for everyone. Check out the sheep dog or sheep shearing demonstrations, learn how to prepare lamb, take a spinning class, or shop for a variety of fleece, yarn and rovin

g. The Parade of Breeds will introduce you to a large variety of sheep breeds, and the Sheep to Shawl Contest will demonstrate shearing, carding, spinning, and weaving a final product in just a few hours. There are auctions and sales for sheep equipment, fiber equipment, and fleeces. You can get many new ideas from the beautiful products on display from our many competitions. Please leave your pets at home.

🐑✂️ For Saturday only come out and witness the premiere blade shearer in the United States come and ply his trade for the shearing demonstrations. The Festival is honored to welcome back Kevin Ford for one day only to show off his skill with the blades and answer questions about shearing, animal care and handling and wool. If you want to meet a master craftsman plan to come see Kevin this Saturday in the Rabbit barn at 11:00 and 2:00.

As we prepare for Maryland Sheep & Wool 2026, we want to clearly remind all attendees:
This policy is in place for the safety and wellbeing of:
• Our livestock
• Exhibitors and competitors
• Service animals
• All guests in crowded spaces
Only trained service animals assisting a person with a disability are allowed.
We know many of you love your dogs — we do too — but please make arrangements to leave pets safely at home.
Guests who arrive with pets will not be admitted.
Thank you for helping us protect the animals and ensure a safe, enjoyable weekend for everyone. May 2–3, 2026

Saturday 5/2/26 please come join TahNibaa Naataanii, a Navajo weaver from New Mexico representing the Many Hogan and Coyote Pass Clans. She will share her inspirations as a fiber artist and why she continues this way of life as a weaver, spinner, and Navajo Churro rancher. Don't miss TahNibaa's lecture at 1:30 in the 4-H Building. Doors open at 1:00. Tickets are $5 cash, payable at the door on a first-come, first-served basis.

✨This little lamb wants ewe to learn a new fiber craft at the 2026 Festival! ✨
The Intro to Fiber Arts classes (formerly “Family Activities”) offer the same beloved beginner-friendly experiences, now in the Main Exhibition Annex! These classes are a fun, approachable way to try something new. Each session is led by expert instructors, and all materials are provided—just come ready to create. Spaces open in Intro to Knitting (Ages 10+), Intro to Crochet (Ages 10+), Needle Felting Fungi (Ages 7+), Needle Felted Beads (Ages 10+) & God’s Eye (Ages 5+)
🪡 Details:
• One-hour beginner classes (all supplies included)
• $20 per person (Needle Felting Fungi is 1.5 hours / $30)
• Festival admission not included
• Pre-registration strongly recommended (these often sell out!)
