We are thrilled to announce the team of John Cariani's "Love/Sick" directed by Jay Are Adams, opening November 5th!

We held our first read through on Monday night (not pictured in the read through: Atlas Torres and Shiloh Pabst) in the Studio Theatre - we can't wait to share these stories of love in all it's messy glory. Stay tuned for tickets going on sale soon!

What a line up! These are the major courses offered this semester in the Performing Arts program, offering students interested developing new or strengthening existing skills in music, theatre and dance.

Some new offerings include Jazz & Tap and Stand Up / Sketch Comedy; while fundamentals like Music Theory and Intro to Theatre are also on the schedule.

Whether you are new to the performing arts, or a seasoned veteran looking to keep current with industry best practices and explore both classic and contemporary art forms, we have something for you.

Final course drop!

The fall semester starts September 8th, and whether you are just getting started, looking to deepen your knowledge of theatre production, or want to explore the nuances of what it means to direct a show, there is something for you.

Fall classes with Vana Trudeau, Program Coordinator, include:

**Acting I** (two sections available)
Tues/Thurs 11-12:15 OR
Tues/Thurs 2-3:15

**Rehearsal & Performance** (credit for taking part in the fall production of Love/Sick as a performer or production team member)
Tues/Thurs 5-6:15

**Directing** (explore your instincts as a director, and produce a 10-minute play as part of our Student-Directed Short Play Festival!)
Mon/Wed 5-6:15

Vana Trudeau brings three decades of professional arts and education experience to the classroom. An alumna of CCCC, she holds a Master’s Degree in Drama from Tufts University and recently earned a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Theatre Pedagogy.

Vana facilitates consent-based collaboration spaces and reimagines theater practices for a more sustainable art form. She supports students whether they pursue theatre as a profession or as a foundation for living empowered and socially
engaged lives.

The clock is ticking towards the start of the fall semester! Take a moment today to sign up for required courses and electives so you don't miss out!

Intro to Theatre is a foundation course that is required for many upper level theatre courses, and fulfills one of three foundation course requirements for the Performing Arts concentration.

Join adjunct faculty member Liz Rapoza on a journey exploring theater history and development from an artistic, social, cultural, and experiential perspective. Learn more about the trends, movements, genres, eras that shape the theatre landscape, and trace the physical and artistic shifts that have made storytelling a universal language.

Offered Mondays and Wednesdays 11-12:15 in person in the fall and asynchronously online in the spring.

Another exciting course alert! Jazz and Tap technique has been added to the fall schedule -- just in time to help strengthen those dance skills for your next spring musical!

Jazz & Tap is taught by Michelle Poirier, a choreographer and instructor with 18 years of teaching experience. She began her dance training under Charlotte Klein in Worcester, MA, and went on to earn her BA in Dance from Dean College.

Michelle trained internationally at the Laban School in London and Dock 11 in Berlin and continued her professional development in NYC at the Ailey School, Broadway Dance Center, and Steps on Broadway.

She welcomes movers with or without prior training to discover, rediscover, and deepen their love of dance.

Jazz & Tap meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30-1:45. Sign up today for the opportunity to develop technique, versatility and musicality in expressive jazz and tap styles.

Another course update! In addition to Chorus and Piano I and II, Sarah Fachada will be teaching Music Theory this fall. A core course for musicians, vocalists, theatre performers AND stage managers, Music Theory will strengthen your skills in pitch, rhythm and ear training, as well as music reading.

Chorus is offered Tues/Thurs from 9:30-10:45, Music Theory is offered Mon/Wed 11:00-12:15, and Piano I/II meets Tuesdays 11:00-1:00 PM.

In addition to being a member of the adjunct faculty at CCCC, Sarah has taught at Plymouth State College, Belmont Day School, and Cleveland Music School Settlement. She holds a Master's Degree in Vocal Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music. She is also the Music Director at Waquoit Congregational Church, and maintains a private voice and piano studio in Marstons Mills. She recently served as Vocal Director for Come From Away, and Vocal and Music Director for both The Prom and Bright Star.
