A quick update and a call for help: racing at The 'Chuck for adults is being put on hold for now until summer, but a youth ride and race program is coming together now in response to a temporary disbanding of the youth Eastmont mountain bike club. We are looking for some ride leaders and other volunteers to help keep these kids on their bikes. We'll ride on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-5:30pm at a pre-arranged location. Let us know if you, or anyone you know, might be interested in leading rides. The rides will be open to anyone aged 8-14 years old with at least some cycling experience.

Howdy and happy 2018, hope everyone is healthy and keeping fit! We are currently planning this year's Wenval World Championship MTB races and we need your feedback. We are looking at some changes but we'd like to hear your thoughts on the races and the following topics:

1. Moving races to Wednesday?
2. Alternating venue each week between Squilchuck and Leavenworth Ski Hill?
3. Start racing ASAP in April, finishing at end of June (no summer racing)?
4. Adding more kids racing and clinics and keeping it free (but charging adults $15/race)?

We need sponsors to keep it cheap so if you know of any businesses who might be interested please put us in touch.

We need volunteers to help with planning and ex*****on, race setup and management, and clinic instructors/kid wranglers, so let us know if interested or if you know someone who would be awesome at this.

Haven't been up yet but rumor is that Squilchuck fat bike trails are amazing right now. Whatever you are doing, have fun out there!

Thanks to everyone who came out this year and made our first year of Championships @ the 'Chuck a great time! If you have any suggestions for next years "Champs" please let us know. We want to keep a local race opportunity going while creating a fun learning venue for kids, but we need your support.

Next year our plan is to put on two 4 week series, one in Spring and one in Summer. Thoughts? With community support, like that which we received from Wenatchee Valley Medical Group , we can keep costs cheap to free. There is still more great riding to be had, hope you're enjoying the Fall in the Wenatchee Valley!

The Championships @ the 'Chuck is trying to make its September comeback, but... this smoke! The time is perfect for riding and racing--- the weather is great, late summer and fall are simultaneously in the air, and we want a few more rides/races this year --- so plan to join us up at Squilchuck on Wednesday's this September.

But keep in touch here, just in case the smoke doesn't blow our way... or does blow our way :( We hope to see you up at the 'Chuck!

In hindsight its a good thing we post-poned our August races and moved them to September: tons of smoke and heat, and lots of last minute vacations has put a dent in all our riding. And more good news is that from here on out we are partnering with Wenatchee Valley Velo to bring you the final three Champs at the 'Chuck races in preparation for the final Squilchuck race of the season, The Sizzler, in conjunction with the 2017 Dark Side Festival!

More details of the exciting changes we've made are coming soon, so keep in touch!
