🚧 More Improvements Underway at the Lorain County Fairgrounds! The work doesn't stop when Fair Week ends!

We're excited to share another improvement happening at the Fairgrounds — a new parking area being installed on the north side of the Horse Barn and west side of the Dairy Barn!

This additional parking will help improve accessibility and convenience during Fair Week, while also providing more parking for the many events and activities hosted at our Fairgrounds throughout the year.

One thing many people may not realize is just how much work takes place behind the scenes year-round. From routine maintenance to larger improvement projects, our Fair Board and grounds crew are continually working to make our facilities more functional, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone.

Reinvesting funds back into the Fairgrounds is an important part of preserving and improving this community gathering place for generations to come.

We're proud of the progress being made and grateful for everyone who helps keep our Fairgrounds moving forward!

🌟 Exploring Future Career Opportunities Right Here in Lorain County!

We were proud to be a sponsor of the Lorain County Career Pathways Expo, held at the Ross Expo Center at the Lorain County Fairgrounds!

Hosted by the Educational Service Center of Lorain County, this two-day event brought together more than 70 local businesses and organizations to give middle and high school students from schools throughout Lorain County and beyond a hands-on look at potential career paths.

Students had the opportunity to meet local professionals, explore different industries, ask questions, and experience firsthand what various careers involve — all while discovering the many opportunities available right here in our community!
Lorain County JVS also showcased nine career-tech programs, giving students interactive experiences and a chance to learn more about the skills and training available to them.

As a Fair Board, we're especially proud to see our facilities being used for programs that make such a positive impact beyond Fair Week. The Ross Expo Center provides a space where businesses, educators, and students can come together to build connections and help prepare our youth for the future.

A big thank-you to the Educational Service Center of Lorain County, all participating businesses and organizations, educators, and everyone who helped make this event possible!

Investing in our youth and connecting them with opportunities close to home helps build a stronger future for Lorain County! 👏

🌾🚜 Growing the Next Generation's Understanding of Agriculture!

What a beautiful day at the Lorain County Fairgrounds!
Today, the Firelands, Wellington, and JVS FFA Chapters came together to host the FFA Food for America Ag Literacy Program, welcoming a few hundred third and fourth graders for a hands-on learning experience!

FFA members took the lead in planning, organizing, and teaching students about where their food comes from, the journey from farm to table, and the important role agriculture plays in our everyday lives.

One of the things we're proud of as a Fair Board is seeing our Fairgrounds used for educational opportunities like this throughout the year. Our facilities are more than just a home for Fair Week — they're a place where our community can come together to learn, grow, and connect with agriculture.

A big thank-you to the FFA members, advisors, and everyone involved in making this program possible. It's especially rewarding to see our older agricultural youth sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm with the next generation!

And we couldn't have asked for better weather! ☀️

🚜🐴🏈 FALL HEAVY HAUL — SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 28!

Mark your calendar for the INDOOR Fall Heavy Haul Fundraiser at the Lorain County Fairgrounds!

It’s a full day of draft horses, farm tractors and Ohio State football — all while supporting improvements to our Fairgrounds for generations to come!

🐴 10:00 AM — Draft Horse Pull
🚜 3:00 PM — Stock Farm Tractor Pull
🏈 Ohio State Football will be playing on the big screens inside the Ross Expo Center!

🎟️ General Admission: $10 at the gate
Kids 8 & under are FREE!

There will also be food trucks & 50/50 raffles throughout the day.

Fall Heavy Haul is sponsored by the Lorain County Agricultural Society and Debra McKinney Insurance Agency.

The Next Phase of the Fairs Forever Project has Begun!

Construction is officially underway on the new Lorain County Jr. Fair Beef Barn, with completion occurring before the 2027 Lorain County Fair. This incredible project has been funded and made possible through the generosity of our Fairs Forever donors, along with support from the Federal Government’s Community Project Funding Grant.
