Loween Getter, longtime member of the WC Women's Club, was this month's program presenter. After a brief introduction of her involvement in theater from acting to directing for 41 years, she then explained what "Over the Speed Limit Players" was with a few 'over speed limit' stories of her own! Over the Speed Limit Players is really about those over 55 years of age reading and interpreting on the fly, or not, a dramatic story without props, costumes, or staging. These five women rose to the occasion, without any rehearsal, to interpret, focus on their facial expressions, and voices to bring to life a story of four kids preparing a Mother's Day breakfast for their mom. Not only perfect for the month of May, it was very entertaining as many of us could identify with the messy kitchen, gathering a bouquet of flowers from Mom's garden, and composing a card with broken crayons-from Mom's special stationary! The four kids included An'Nyce Hoff, Darlene Dingman, Donna Foster, JoAnn Robb, along with the exhausted Mom, Kay Klaver!

The delicious refreshment's were served by JoAnn Robb, Jana Reints, and Jean Biggins with greeter for the meeting, Jan Reinhardt.

"Everything You Never Wanted to Know About Pickleball" was presented by Carol Zills on Monday, April 13 to the WC Women's Club members. Carol's program was filled with not only information, rackets and balls, but funny tidbits and stories of personal experiences which kept the ladies captivated and laughing. The serving committee was composed of Kay Klaver, Shirley Bowman, LoEda Paine, and Joan Nessa. The next meeting will be May 11 at 1:30 when Loween Getter will present "Over the Speed Limit Players".

The first meeting of the WC Women's Club for 2026 was held on March 9 in the Jane Young House. Our featured speaker was Sharon Cline who spoke on the topic, Ancestry DNA-Sorting Out Your Cousins. Since a young lady, Sharon was intrigued with her heritage and was especially delighted when Ancestry DNA enabled her to trace more of her family's genealogy and history.
Greeter for the March meeting was Esther Lehman. Refreshment committee included Sharon Cline, Carol Zills, An'Nyce Hoff, and Joyce Harms.
The next meeting of the Women's club will be held April 13 at the Jane Young House. The program will be "Everything You Never Wanted to Know About Pickleball!" by Carol Zills. If you would like to attend, learn more, or become a member of the WC Women's Club, you may call Donna at 515-291-1158.
