Black Hawk Folk Society presents Claudia Russell and Bruce Kaplan in concert this Saturday, October 10 at Mountain View Community Center (located at N3137 21st Lane, just off Highway 152, south of Mt. Morris). This singer-songwriter duo has graced numerous stages throughout the United States for more than several decades and will take this stage at 7 p.m. Claudia and Bruce have released multiple albums and netted many folk music awards, including one for vocal contributions to the Life is Grand Band, part of the Smithsonian’s Folkways Fast Folk Collection.
You will be delighted by the duo’s refined sound, an eclectic and full-bodied tapestry of unplugged Americana. Expect to enjoy Russell’s superb vocals, Kaplan’s distinctive guitar and mandolin back-up, and plenty of gentle humor.
