Wausau 525

We cannot wait for this season to start!!

🏁RACE 2🏁

Located in the heart of Wisconsin, the Wausau 525 Track is more than just an ice oval — it's a facility built on passion, tradition, and a love for snowmobile racing!

Originally constructed in memory of Flip Merwin, the Wausau 525 Track holds a special place in ice oval racing history. As one of the few purpose-built ice oval snowmobile racing facilities in existence, this track has become a destination for some of the fastest and most talented racers in North America.

But what truly sets Wausau apart is the people behind it.

Operated entirely by dedicated volunteers as a nonprofit facility, the Wausau 525 Track is fueled by individuals who pour countless hours into preparing the ice, maintaining the grounds, and creating a safe, competitive racing environment. Their mission is simple: honor Flip's legacy, put racer safety first, and keep the excitement of ice oval racing alive for generations to come.

When the green flag drops in Wausau, fans can expect side-by-side battles, incredible speeds, and heart-pounding competition as the best of the best fight for the checkered flag!

Whether you're a lifelong racing enthusiast or experiencing ice oval racing for the very first time, Wausau is a place where history, horsepower, and community come together.

Come experience the tradition. Feel the excitement. And be part of the legacy.

A racetrack doesn’t take care of itself — even in September! 🚜🌱

A BIG thank you to Sprinkler Pete for bringing his tractor out and doing some serious yard maintenance at the Wausau 525 Track today! There’s a whole lot of property to keep up, and we’re incredibly grateful for volunteers like Pete who continue putting in the time and work long before the snow starts flying. ❄️🏁

So much of what happens at Wausau 525 is because of volunteers who show up, bring their equipment, lend their skills, and tackle whatever needs to be done. It truly takes a crew to keep this place going!

Cara even tried to help with the w**d trimming today.....and broke a window. 🤦‍♀️😂

So, on an entirely unrelated note, Wausau 525 is now accepting applications for a replacement on the w**d-trimming crew. Experience preferred. Ability to avoid windows REQUIRED. 😂

Thanks, Pete — and THANK YOU to all of our volunteers who keep showing up and helping us take care of this special place. We couldn’t do it without you! ❤️🏁

Our Logo, and the story behind it... 💭

When this journey began one thing became constant early on in our meetings together; consistency and unity between race tracks and the events that they host. Whether is was a Canadian track OR an American track, we wished to work together for the betterment of the sport and all who are involved with it.

The logo is compromised of the "Canadian Maple Leaf" and the "American Star" with colors representing the two countries that these events take place in. We believed this brought our vision to life the best.

As for the name, this was the hardest part. Many ideas were brought forward, and it was hard to decide which one would be enjoyed the most. So we took to the polls and asked the Pro Champ 440 drivers which they preferred and wanted to race for in order to be crowned "The Champ"! The Pro Ice Championship Tour (PICT) received the most votes and was agreed upon.

Lots of effort behind the scenes took place to make this vision a reality, and we're excited to continue to promote and grow the sport as best as we can!

A HUGE shout out to Judith Olson Photography - Racing for helping our logo come to life with the vision we intended! If you don't have your 2026-2027 racer profile cards on order yet, she does incredible work and I know the Race Fans love them!
