We will have floodlights and a heated porch at Slug Row (the campout area) which serves as a pit stop area for runners. Runners are responsible for your own food, drinks (other than water), warmth, sleeping tent, and winter survival. At the conclusion of the race, runners are given a 15 min grace period to finish their final lap, after which a mile will be deducted for every 15 min they are late (for example, at 10:15 one mile is deducted, at 10:30 two miles, and so forth). Each time a runner comes in they must mark their tally sheet. This is based on the honor system. Littering on the course will subject you to disqualification
Due to the extreme weather at this time of year we reserve the right to cancel the event at any time. Final results will be calculated based on each runner’s placement at the call time as determined by that runner’s last completed lap. This rule is intended to be a last resort
If you are struggling at any point in the run, race officials will have the right to evaluate you, and it will be their call if you will be allowed to continue. These decisions will be made with your safety and desire to finish in mind
Runners may have crew support every lap. When helping, crew must stay at designated area on Slug Fest Row. Helping outside of the runners designated area on Slug Fest Row is not allowed

Would I have the option to run for 24 hours if I sign up for 12? Would I only qualify for the 12 hr awards if I did this? john November 28, 2012 at 8:41 AM · Edit · Reply →
I would sign up for the 24 hour and then let us know a week before the race on rather or not you want do the whole thing. Are you thinking of doing the solo or running in a team? James Barnard November 28, 2012 at 11:56 AM · Edit · Reply →
I would do the solo…

I am interested in this run and would like to know how many people are expected to come out like Cora wanted to know. I would hate to be the only guy running around a farm for 12 or 24 hours. How many solos are expected to attend. There any way to see who has registered for the event? Also, how will the trails be? Will it be easy to find where we are going? Will the trails be covered with leaves (I am assuming so). Is the run pretty or is it through the jungle and you’ll feel like you’re running in a closet the whole race? john November 26, 2012 at 10:43 AM · Edit · Reply →
Hey James,
You will defiantly not be the only runner. We already have several teams that are committed and we estimate to have a min of 50-60 people. The course layout can be seen in the link below. https://gec-current-events-a-googleproductforums-com.googlegroups.com/attach/d5f1292949211b9e/c9520397-8abe-46c9-9393-9c02fcfcf11c.kmz?view=1&part=4
We are also on Facebook where you can get a good idea of who is attending. We have ten teams signed up at this time. Here is our FB page link. https://www.facebook.com/events/474553315900846/
We will host a trail training/cleaning day 2 weeks before the run. More to come on this soon. The trail and conditions are tough, however people are allowed to go at their own pace. As for the beauty it is always on duty as the run is held at my family farm which we take great efforts to maintain… I think it is a little slice heaven and if you look at the pictures from the Sasquatch Trot you can get a good idea of how it will look. The race will be held in open fields and woods so there is a good mixture. The trails will be heavily marked with reflective tape and glow sticks. The moon will also be near full for this run so hopefully we will have no clouds. Let me know if this answers all your questions. Troy Johnson November 16, 2012 at 1:10 PM · Edit · Reply →
The wife and I like to run together instead of one at a time on the trail, so the solo entry would be our best way to go, right? kevin November 14, 2012 at 7:05 PM · Edit · Reply →
12,2 man team
john November 15, 2012 at 10:10 AM · Edit · Reply →
To qualify it would mean that your team would need to do a min of 30 miles (1 loop every 2 hours to qualify). At least, I would try to be able to run 15 miles at a 15 min/mi pace. Kevin November 14, 2012 at 2:00 PM · Edit · Reply →
How many miles should someone be running prior to the rAce? john November 14, 2012 at 2:32 PM · Edit · Reply →
Hey Kevin,
Depends, Can you tell me which race you would like to do (12 or 24) and how many people are on your team? john November 6, 2012 at 8:14 PM · Edit · Reply →

Quick question: did you have a minimum age requirement for this adventure? Thanks,
Priscilla

Thank you for liking us on Facebook! We recommend 18 and older for this event as it is a very hard and technical 12/24 hour run. However, we are willing to accept younger participants with their parents consent and if they have previous race history that matches a run of this caliber. john November 6, 2012 at 5:05 PM · Edit · Reply →

I have a quick question:
What is this vegetarian crap you are talking about for the food? If there isn’t meat in it, why would I eat it during this hellacious endeavor? john November 6, 2012 at 5:01 PM · Edit · Reply →
Hey Cora,
I will send you a response via email. Cora Farris November 6, 2012 at 4:05 PM · Edit · Reply →
Hi I am very interested in this run. I did the Loretta Lynn’s trail run earlier this year and had a great time. I have a few questions before I register.
1. I have a camper trailer. Are those allowed on the premisis and if so can I run a generator?
2. How many people do you expect to enter the run? Thanks! john November 26, 2012 at 10:52 AM · Edit · Reply →
Stop playing with you teammates hearts and just do the damn thing. Because I know two things – 1. You more than capable 2. You would be missing out on a really good adventure/future story. As I know you love telling a good story. Leave a Reply
