Glory Bayer, Cody and I spent a whole restful week in this Wy. RV park waiting for 4 solinod valves for water system. Fixed and on the road Monday afternoon. Found a fantastic repair man with common sense!!

We finally have a few pictures from the 1911 C.W. Parker Carousel. Charles Wallace (C.W.) Parker's shop made this Carousel back in 1911 and it had it's Grand Re-Opening on July 4, 2011 @ Waterloo Firemen's Park. Technically “Carousel” is derived from the French carrousell, which originally meant people riding real horses in a parade, all though C.W. claimed that the term carousel was a quicker way of saying, “Carry-Us-All.” This was one of his ways of teaching people that the carousel was for all ages to enjoy.
Many historic people have intersected with Parker and his American tradition of carousels. Perhaps the most notable is President Dwight Eisenhower, the 34th President and the most famous general from World War II. Long before becoming involved in politics, as a young boy Eisenhower had a job sanding the wood horses at Parker’s shop. This was very close to Eisenhower’s childhood home in Abilene, Kansas.
