DOG DAYS DRAWS MORE THAN 20,000 VISITORS TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD ON THE FIRST WEEKEND IN AUGUST EACH YEAR TO EXPERIENCE UNIQUE AND INTERACTIVE COMMERCE AT MORE THAN 100 LOCAL BUSINESSES. FOUNDED IN 2000 BY HOME RULE, THIS EVENT HAS GROWN FROM A ONE-BLOCK FESTIVAL TO NOW INCLUDE THE VIBRANT AREA ON 14TH STREET NW BETWEEN THOMAS CIRCLE AND FLORIDA AVENUE, AND U STREET FROM 7TH STREET TO 17TH STREET.
