It is with HEAVY hearts indeed that the East River Jazz Family accepts the passing of our Friend and Leader Vernard R. Gray. He was the first to create the nomenclature Cultural Archivist and the preeminent supporter of all African American art forms in Washington, DC. His artistic self was opened through photography and he passed through to the next life through Jazz.

We shall forever miss him. We Honor God who allowed Vernard to do what he loved until his last breath.
