On January 20, 2021 newly elected President Biden signed an executive order that effectively eliminated the rights of women & girls to protections and provisions based on the category of s*x. Instead, Biden’s order chooses to interpret s*x broadly as “s*xual orientation and gender identity” but does not make any provisions for the physical category of s*x, meaning that women & girls (female people
) are no longer a legally protected class. This event Women Picket DC is being held to protest Biden’s executive order and to demand our rights as women & girls to single s*x spaces and sports. We believe and fight for the rights of women & girls to:
1. Self define based on our whole humanity as female humans, ie. The terms “woman” & “girl” refer to adult human females and pre adult human females. We are whole human beings which includes all of our internal organs and we reject being reduced to a “gendered identity.”
2. Single s*x spaces including bathrooms, changing rooms, locker rooms, shelters, prisons, and r**e crisis centers. Women prisoners deserve single s*x prisons. Women who seek shelter from homelessness, domestic violence, and r**e deserve single s*x facilities. Women in the military deserve single s*x rooming and bathing facilities.
3. Women & girls deserve bodily integrity, privacy, & safety. Anything less is a violation of our boundaries and an enforcement of r**e culture.
4. Single s*x sports. Women & girls deserve the rights conferred under Title IX with fair opportunities for participation and scholarships. Women & girls deserve the right to fair and safe play. The physiological advantages of men & boys over women & girls are myriad, while they include the male hormone testosterone, they are not limited to T levels, but also include the male skeletal structure with larger hands & feet, broader shoulders, narrower hips, larger heart & lungs, faster heat dissipation, better blood oxygenation, faster twitch muscle fibers, faster muscle recovery time, better grip strength, and a more powerful punch.
5. The right to choose a health care provider of their own s*x. Women & girls deserve the right of CONSENT, the right to decide who touches our body, and for this person to be of their same s*x if we so choose. Anything less is a violation of our boundaries and an enforcement of r**e culture.
6. The right of free speech. Women & girls deserve the right to name material reality as it exists. We deserve to be able to name reality as we see and experience it with our physical senses. We deserve to use accurate language when speaking about human s*x and name adult human males as men, and pre adult human males as boys. We will not be coerced into participating in the jargon used by gender identity campaigners. Women & girls demand the recognition of our full humanity as a s*x class. We are not a “gendered identity status.” We do not exist to validate the identity claims of men & boys. Nor are we HUMAN SHIELDS for men & boys who are vulnerable in male single s*x spaces. We deserve protections & provisions “ON THE BASIS OF SEX” - Ruth Bader Ginsberg. We stand with our foremothers and foresisters, suffragettes such as Susan B. Anthony who said, “No self respecting woman should wish or work for a party that ignores her s*x.
