Katie Mahoney, Board Certified Health and Pregnancy Coach for Stanton Wellness, at the Rappahannock Regional Jail (RRJ) in Stafford, Virginia.

Katie was there in response to a national NBC/Bloomberg investigative news story about how incarcerated pregnant women in local jails are being mistreated, abused, neglected and denied proper care.

Katie talked with jail officials about coming alongside RRJ to provide tangible support and care for any pregnant women staying at the jail. At Stanton, we believe every woman, no matter her circumstances, deserves compassionate and professional care throughout her pregnancy. Pregnancy is a vulnerable and sacred season, and women who are incarcerated need dignity, emotional support, and quality medical care more than ever.
