!Hobby Thursday!

Willem likes to customize his miniatures so 2 or 3 models are not identical. Steamforged was kind enough not to merge the files from the grave diggers release.

He digitally reposes and adds bits and pieces (it didn't hurt that they gave us Cryx bits to play with).

The arm is the Slug Fist arm of a Valiant Jack from the Cygnar Gravediggers army.

Using Bender, a 3D modeling program to separate the arm into individual solids (each solid is outlined in orange), So he can move, resize, and rotate them as he chooses. Adding more solids from the Cryx models for flavor. Looks like he added a Cryx Jack head in his hand and a Cryx weapon broken off In his shoulder.

After that, It's a simple task to export the STL file from blender. Loading that into Chitubox (slicer program) for supporting and slicing then sending it to the printer.

Warmachine is a game I've played and painted for almost 20 years. Steamforged recently announced the first new MK4 Menoth models. I can't afford a whole new faction of models, so I didn't expect to find anything I could use.

However, while scrolling through the cards, I saw Thyra—my old favorite Warcaster. The Mk2 model is on a 30mm base while Mk4 is on a 40mm, but that is an easy fix. That was all it took to get me interested.

Looking at the units:

- Cleanser Purifiers: Almost identical to the Mk2 Flameguard Cleansers (I already have 20 painted).
- Cleanser Skyhammers: I have 10 painted already.
- Daughters of the Veil: Looks just like Daughters of the Flame from Mk2.
- Flameguard Defender: Looks like Temple Flameguard.
- Vassals of Menoth: Can proxy as Vassal Mechanik and Vassal of Menoth solos.
- Jacks & Solos: I can easily make those work.

So, I pulled out my 20 Temple Flameguard on Sunday and started painting on Monday. The bodies, shields, and spears each have two or three parts. I had to cut the unit back to 15 because some of the spear arms didn't match the bodies.

I now have all of the parts base coated, so consider this an in-progress report!
