📢 Kumberland Gap Community Update

With very heavy hearts, we need to share that our Kumberland Christmas event scheduled for Saturday, November 29th has to be canceled this year.

The recent rain — and the forecast calling for even more heavy rain all day Saturday — has created conditions that would be unsafe, extremely muddy, and simply not enjoyable for our guests, families, volunteers, and vendors. We held out as long as we possibly could, hoping the weather would turn, but it’s clear that it's not going to.

This decision was incredibly hard to make, and we know many of you will be disappointed. Trust us… we are too. ❤️

We hope you’ll mark your calendars and join us back at the Gap for our Second Annual Mountain Man Rendezvous, happening Friday, June 19th through Sunday, June 21st 2026! We can’t wait to welcome everyone back for a great time when the grounds are safe and dry!

Our sincerest apologies, and thank you for your understanding and support.

Kumberland Christmas at Kumberland Gap

🎄Saturday, November 29 | Noon–8 PM

$8 Adults • $6 Children

Step back in time for a Christmas celebration of the 1800s at Kumberland Gap, where lamplight glows and the spirit of the season warms the heart!

🎅 Santa & Mrs. Claus will be stoppin’ by to visit with the children, while the young’uns can be officially deputized by the Town Marshal — a proud moment for any frontier kid!

🏫 In the Old Schoolhouse, children can craft their very own punch-tin ornament, just like the pioneers once did.

📮 Over at the Post Office, they’ll have the chance to mail a letter straight to Santa Claus himself!

🎁 And as a token of the season, each family will receive a special 2025 Kumberland Gap Commemorative Christmas Ornament with their paid admission — a keepsake to remember your visit by for years to come.

🍲 Hearty eats await:

• Chili served hot at the Chuck Wagon

• Beef & Barley Stew simmering inside the authentic 1800s cabin

• Fresh kettle corn poppin’ all afternoon

🌾✨ Sorghum Days 2025 — What a Weekend!
Our hearts are still full after the biggest and best turnout we’ve had yet! From the smell of sweet sorghum and the clang of the blacksmith’s hammer, to smiling families, incredible vendors, and tireless volunteers — you brought our 1800s town to life once again. 🤍

We were honored to welcome 🎬 actor & producer Kurt Aubuchon, who shared a special look at Down the Long River — filmed right here at Kumberland Gap and releasing June 2026.

Thank you for keeping history alive, one handshake and wagon wheel at a time.

For the first time ever, Sorghum Days guests will get to see a scene from the brand-new movie “Down the Long River,” filmed right here at Kumberland Gap last summer! (not yet released)

On Saturday, you’ll even have the chance to meet actor Kurt Aubuchon, who played the starring role of “Doc” in the film!
So hitch up your wagon, gather the family, and come spend the weekend where history, laughter, and good company come together!

📚 1-Room Schoolhouse Teachers • Sunday only • 2–4 hour shifts • Bring history to life for our guests!
