🌾 Sorghum Days is returning to Kumberland Gap—with something very special happening after the sun goes down! 🎬

Join us for the 5th Annual Sorghum Days on October 10 & 11, 2026, from 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

Step back into the 1800s for a weekend filled with living history, old-fashioned demonstrations and family fun!

🐴 Watch a horse power the sorghum mill as the cane is pressed, then see the sweet juice cooked down into syrup.
🌽 Let the kids try their hand at shelling corn with antique corn shellers.
🐷 Visit the Kumberland Gap pigs.
🏚️ Explore the Saloon, Jail and Settler’s Cabin—and grab a root b**r or old-fashioned sarsaparilla while you’re visiting the Saloon!
👨‍👩‍👧 Meet a living-history family and discover what everyday life would have been like in the 1800s.
🏫 Step inside our one-room Schoolhouse for a special historical educational program exploring what school life and learning were like in days gone by.
🔫 Watch exciting Old West gunfights presented by the Missouri Wild West Gunfighters on both Saturday and Sunday!
🍽️ A special Chuckwagon Dinner will be available Saturday afternoon.
🍿 And don’t forget to treat yourself to some delicious kettle corn while you explore the town!
Then, after Sorghum Days concludes Saturday evening, stay for an experience available only at Kumberland Gap…

See the film in the very town where it was filmed! Exclusive movie merchandise will also be available that evening.
The sneak preview is included with your Sorghum Days weekend admission, but a limited souvenir preview pass will be required. More pass details will be announced soon!

Weekend Admission: $8 for ages 4 and older
Children under 4 are free!

Wow! We are incredibly grateful for the support shown at this year’s Mountain Man Rendezvous. In just two days, we’ve welcomed more guests than we did during all three days of last year’s event!

Unfortunately, due to the forecasted weather conditions and out of consideration for the safety and comfort of our vendors, campers, and blanket traders, the decision has been made not to open the Rendezvous on Sunday.

Thank you to everyone who came out, shared the event, and helped make this weekend such a success. We hope you enjoy a wonderful Father’s Day with your families, and we look forward to seeing you again at Kumberland Gap for Sorghum Days on October 10th & 11th!

Until then, safe travels and thank you for supporting local history and living traditions.

📢 Kumberland Gap Community Update

With very heavy hearts, we need to share that our Kumberland Christmas event scheduled for Saturday, November 29th has to be canceled this year.

The recent rain — and the forecast calling for even more heavy rain all day Saturday — has created conditions that would be unsafe, extremely muddy, and simply not enjoyable for our guests, families, volunteers, and vendors. We held out as long as we possibly could, hoping the weather would turn, but it’s clear that it's not going to.

This decision was incredibly hard to make, and we know many of you will be disappointed. Trust us… we are too. ❤️

We hope you’ll mark your calendars and join us back at the Gap for our Second Annual Mountain Man Rendezvous, happening Friday, June 19th through Sunday, June 21st 2026! We can’t wait to welcome everyone back for a great time when the grounds are safe and dry!

Kumberland Christmas at Kumberland Gap

Step back in time for a Christmas celebration of the 1800s at Kumberland Gap, where lamplight glows and the spirit of the season warms the heart!

🎅 Santa & Mrs. Claus will be stoppin’ by to visit with the children, while the young’uns can be officially deputized by the Town Marshal — a proud moment for any frontier kid!

🏫 In the Old Schoolhouse, children can craft their very own punch-tin ornament, just like the pioneers once did.

📮 Over at the Post Office, they’ll have the chance to mail a letter straight to Santa Claus himself!

🎁 And as a token of the season, each family will receive a special 2025 Kumberland Gap Commemorative Christmas Ornament with their paid admission — a keepsake to remember your visit by for years to come.
