đź’ĄATTENTION- Important Johnson County Fair Announcementđź’Ą
The Johnson County Fair Association (JCFA) announces an important update to the structure of the Johnson County Fair. JCFA will be discontinuing traditional open class exhibitions, including Foods Preparation and Preservation, Home Economics, Fine Arts (Art Show), Farm Crops & Garden Produce. This also includes the Flower and Quilt Show.
This decision was not made lightly. Over recent years, participation in these areas has declined, while the time, volunteer effort, and financial resources required to successfully host these exhibits have continued to grow. This change is part of a broader effort to remain fiscally responsible and avoid placing additional financial demands on our valued sponsors and supporters.
While we understand that many community members enjoy traditional Fair elements such as exhibitions, carnivals and expanded entertainment offerings; the reality is that funding, vendor availability, and our location all play a role in determining what is feasible. At this time, those factors limit our ability to provide those experiences. However, as opportunities arise, we hope to reintroduce new and old events and attractions in the future.
The Johnson County Fair will continue to host key events, including 4-H and FFA exhibits and activities. These youth organizations are the heart of our mission. The Amped-Up Productions Pro Bull Ride, Royalty Pageant and Baby Show will continue.
“We recognize that change can be difficult,” said the JCFA Board of Directors. “Our goal is to ensure the long-term sustainability of the Johnson County Fairgrounds while continuing to serve our community and support our youth.”
