Meet Spotlight Reagle performer, Eliza Zangerl!

Eliza Zangerl is a Boston-based playwright and composer workshopping her original musical “The Fall of Kings.” This past spring, she graduated from Harvard University with a BA in English and Theater, Dance & Media and received the Phyllis Anderson Prize for Playwriting for her political comedy, “An American Mess,” from the American Repertory Theater. Recently, Eliza has played the role of Juliet with the World’s a Stage Players and directed for the Harvard College Opera, Black Community And Student Theater, and Cabot House Theater and performed in the Radcliffe Choral Society, Harvard-Radcliffe Gilbert & Sullivan Players, and Hyperion Shakespeare Company. But she first fell in love with the theater on Reagle’s stages. She attended Reagle’s youth vacation and summer camps for 10 years, debuted in a Reagle Main Stage production of "South Pacific" as Ngana in 2014 and performed in the youth ensemble of "The Music Man" in 2014. As a teen she worked as a Counselor-in-training for the Reagle summer and school vacation camps, and finally Head Counselor in 2022 and remembers performing at a Reagle gala or two over the years. This experience led her to become the Director of Waltham’s Park-Rec’s Theatre Program for the past 3 years! Eliza is overjoyed to return to Reagle as a singer at Spotlight Reagle on 10/24 and to help raise money for such a great cause - making sure that the next generation of Waltham’s youth will be able to fall in love with theatre on Reagle’s stages, too!
