Carolina Strawberry Festival - Wallace, NC Celebrating sweet community & strawberries the first weekend in May in Historic Downtown Wallace, NC Friday night kicks things off with the Strawberry Jam!

The Carolina Strawberry Festival is the premier festival for the town of Wallace each May. It was held annually for years, but was suspended during WWII. The festival has been back now since 2011- better than ever and ran through 2019. Unfortunately, the 2020 and 2021 Carolina Strawberry Festivals were cancelled because of Covid -19. The festival is back as a modern event- complete with food and craft vendors, Beer & Wine Garden, VIP Seating for concerts, Little Miss Strawberry Pageant, performances by local dance and music groups, and favorite musical performers. Events fill Downtown Wallace from Main Street to the Wallace Train Depot, our local shops offer specials. There is no admission charge to the festival itself or to the concert area at the Wallace Train Depot! Ed's Disosaurs Live! will be performing, bands will be playing, food vendors will be open and the Beer & Wine Garden will be open. Saturday boasts a full schedule of events - including the Little Miss Strawberry Pageant and local performers. Look for great vendors up and down the streets, strawberry ice cream and more! Mini Miss Strawberry Contestants
Must be 3-5 years old
$50.00 entry fee for each contestant (checks made payable to the Carolina Strawberry Festival

Little Miss Strawberry Contestants
Must be 6-8 years old
$50.00 entry fee for each contestant (checks made payable to the Carolina Strawberry Festival)

Judging will be based on stage presence, poise, personality and appearance. Required attire for contestants is age appropriate regular-length dresses; no semi-formal or formal dresses, age appropriate dress shoes, limited jewelry, and no make-up.

🍓 GRANT APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN! 🍓

We are excited to announce that grant applications are officially open!

The link below includes the grant information, eligibility requirements, and application.

Eligibility at a Glance:
• Applicants must be a nonprofit organization.
• Projects must provide a direct benefit to the Wallace community while promoting Wallace in a positive way and reflecting our community’s values and spirit.
• Preference will be given to projects that offer inclusive, accessible educational or recreational opportunities and encourage community-wide participation, enjoyment, and engagement.

📌 Important: Please download a copy of the application before completing it. Completed applications can be emailed or dropped off in person at Town Hall. Application deadline is September 18th, 2026. Awards will be announced by October 1st, 2026.

The 2027 Carolina Strawberry Festival will take place April 30 and May 1, 2027!

Our Board has been enjoying a short summer break, but we'll be back in the swing of planning soon and are excited to start sharing updates for next year's festival!

Congratulations to our Wing Cook Off champs, House of Raeford Farms!

Y’ALL. We’ve got some real WING QUEENS & KINGS in this house! Congratulations to Cassandra Ayala, Gabriel Gomez, James Owens, Dwain Darden, Vivian Diaz, Lou Lou Boney and Takela Montgomery. They were last weekend’s first place winners of the Chicken Wing Cookoff Carolina Strawberry Festival - Wallace, NC and are part of the House of Raeford Farms Night Shift team from Company & Community Pride (CCP), the local outreach group focused on Rose Hill plant employees and the local Rose Hill community. They ALSO WON the Wing Cookoff competition The North Carolina Poultry Jubilee-Rose Hill, NC last fall! We are so proud of them!!

Our committee is made up entirely of volunteers who give their time, energy, and ideas throughout the year to make this event something special for everyone. From planning and organizing to the behind-the-scenes details, it truly takes a team. And we’ve got a good one!

While the festival may be over for now, we don’t stay away for long. We’ll be back to work and meeting again starting in June to begin planning for next year!
