THANK YOU // MIIGWECH TO Northern Lights Casino, Hotel, and Events Center!

If you visited the casino in the last 3-4 months, you would have seen Camp Bliss featured as the recipient of the "donate your change" campaign near every ATM and exit around the floor. All of those little bills, coins, and leftover slot tickets added up to $8,319!!!!

This donation will help us get more Veterans in the door this year, especially for our first Native American Veteran Retreat in March, we will be able to enhance the experience thanks to the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe allowing their affiliate casino to give this generous donation!

We hosted our Beyond the Yellow Ribbon ceremony last week and it was BEAUTIFUL!

The Leech Lake Honor Guard and Rod Northbird provided our ceremonial opening with a Flag Song and closed us out with a Veteran song. The drums really connected participants to the Northwoods space that surrounded us with perfect weather; COL Rankin commented on it in his speech, and after the ceremony, Rod said he "could feel the energy and on the last song, I didn't hit the drum as hard to support the Veteran who still struggles with loud noises." Just really beautiful and thoughtful contributions from everyone who was there!

**LAST MINUTE RETREAT OPENINGS!**

Are you looking for a break this weekend where you can be with other women and have all your meals and activities planned out and done for a few days?

We are partnering with Women Veterans Initiative for a retreat this weekend (October 2-4) and unfortunately, some of the participants had to cancel and we have space for new faces.

This retreat is FREE for MN female Veterans! You don't need to register online, just email Kirsten if you can attend.

We made the best of a rainy weekend for fishing at Camp Bliss 🌧️
